I've been tagging Clive Owen's name to this one since back when the only thing he was known for was the BMW commercials, but reports are that he refuses to do Bond as the commitment would preclude him from doing other projects in which he is more interested.

Too bad they want to replace Brosnan, I think he's a very good Bond and I don't think he's too old for it yet.

I think Brosnan was and is too gay to be Bond. They need someone hardcore. That means no Orlando Bloom either.

The only good bond was Sean Connery. The rest are wannabe pop-tarts.

You want a British accent?
How about Kevin Kline (John Cleese as M, Jamie Lee Curtis as Moneypenny).

I've heard a rumour that Sean Connery himself is coming on to direct the next Bond film.

But I understand it was his his decision to step down. There is a dearth of debonair younger actors to take his place, but I still think Viggo Mortensen shows some promise, as does Hugh Jackman. And they are both as cute as bugs ears!!!

There's also the Welsh actor Ioan Gruffud. He's not in a whole lot but is quite talented, and can also do a few different languages and accents.
Note: I can't vouch for his performance in King Arthur, having never seen it.

Bond has to be the legal equivalent of gangster, an i'm talking good ol' fashioned south london gangster here, suave, sophisticated, handsome, lady-killer, but ultimately dangerous. George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton were wrong for the role, lazenby's too boring and dalton was too scruffy to be bond
so to choose a new one, with london gangster in mind, the guy that played andy hunter in eastenders, whatever his name is, erm, i also would be good, he is too old really but i would love to see hugo weaving as bond erm, rhys ifans would be funny, maybe too funny, mmm, and of course perfect would be Nigel Harman, oh yeah, devilishly handsome, and a londoner |

Let's just cast Vinnie Jones then... or Lee Bowyer. He has the 'taken whoever I need to take' attitude.
*Not to these fortunate enough to not know either of the above* Vinnie Jones is a soccer player who was a 'hardman' and who later became an actor. Lee Bowyer is a current soccer player who managed somehow to get into a on-field fist-fight with a member of his own team... something which hadn't happened for about 20 years.

Last thing I heard is that they've started talking again to Brosnan (Not sure if it's a rumour or legitimate) to continue playing Bond. That'd be great, anyway. They don't need a better Bond, just better scripts.
Although there was also talk of simultaniously make a movie/series (not sure which one) about a younger version of James Bond with Orlando Bloom.

Hm... I dunno... I think they should just cast Ben Affleck as James Bond, Britney Spears as the Bond girl, and let the series die a glorious death. (Or, as Andúril glibly suggested... Andy Dick. That would brutally murder the series right there. )
If they want to turn out a few more movies, I think Clive Owen or Ioan Gruffud would be good choices. They were both pretty good in King Arthur. I think Clive Owen could handle a sophistocated type gangster role. I could have sworn I already posted this somewhere. Now I feel silly...
