Thought so. But if they're inserting Radagast to cut Beorn, somebody is going to be royally pissed off.

blimey - i managed to remember my pass
Great call on Martin. Aye.. David Tenant hamming it up as a merry elf tickles the fancy... I cannot imagine for one momment they'd cut Beorn out... Btw..they are shooting it Digital 3D? Any thoughts on this? Avatar was very immersive - but i saw Alice in Wonderland 3d (admittedly they bolted the 3D element on in Post...) and that was very diaspointing. In theory though ..and its a "big IF Theory"... but if (in theory) they can get a look that is more fantastical..and rather more light with the use of 3D in the hobbit..i think that might work quite well to differentiate it from the LOTR.. Though of course its also a worry...isnt it? (3D) Anyway... perhaps one fine day..before my beard is grey and reaches my toes... and all the roads lead to one final road... that doesn't forever go on and on... I might actually get to see what they finally came up with best BB Last edited by Butterbeer : 10-26-2010 at 08:07 AM. |

Barliman, grand to see yerz.
3d? Oh dear. Never mind. I suspect Radagast may be lined up for a bit part in The Hunt for Gollum, or whatever they're going to call the in-between one. Oh, and Bill Nighy as Smaug = also spot on. Last edited by The Gaffer : 10-26-2010 at 10:00 AM. |

I wonder how much of that kickback to Warner Bros. is going to the unions ... they're probably paying some type of huge fee for SAG members to appear.
Well, I'm glad it's staying in NZ.

Fair enough, when you consider the massive wedge they are going to make from it.

I had to re-read this sentence three times before I realized you were saying "wedge" instead of "wedgy." I don't know why... I was trying to figure out why they were going to make a massive wedgy......

Why wouldn't they?
Silly Tess, always asking the wrong questions.

Maybe Beorn have a massive wedgie. All that polymorphing plays havoc with the gusset.

I am sooooooo jealous!!! *goes off to look for David Tennant and Chris Eccleston* oh, for the record, here's a pic of mBilbo, as the parlance went when the LOTR movies came out ("movie" Bilbo - used when people said Aragorn did something, and it was only in the movie, not the books, so it was mAragorn that did that thing ) I'm quite happy with that choice - I didn't know who he was, but he sure looks the part!

OK guys - seriously, what's the best way to start a drive to get Tennant as a tipsy elf in the Hobbit movie?
But maybe there's a downside - his scenes might carry off the whole movie!

That's rather easy to answer Rian -
Use the Power of Twitter - possibly in conjunction with a facebook group... and follow up with a threat of strike action against 'The Intolerable Discrimination and Restrictive Practices relating to the use of Ex Doctor Who Actors' by Warner Bros and certain Aussie Unions... If David Tennant has a twitter page... we (Herein called The People's Merry Elf Movement should spam it with the suggestion and support for His casting in this role ... and @RL it back to The Hobbit twitter pages... Power to The People's Merry Elf Movement Cry Twitter For Tenant! Middle Earth.. and Merry Elves! Last edited by Butterbeer : 10-28-2010 at 08:09 AM. |

I'm sure everyone has already seen this, so let me present it as Exhibit A that Leonard Nimoy should be cast as Thranduil.

Wow. Another Jackson-Tolkien film finally heaves within sight! Wonder if "Black Breathalyzer" will return?
Freeman is never less than excellent, good choice. And my missus fancies chappy off of Spooks, even if Lucas North did turn evil at the end, so she'll be happy. Weird to think I joined Entmoot over 8 years ago! Wonder of any more jaded members will return from hiatus?

I am very glad that the whole thing is going forward. Even though I have some problems with the LOTR movies, they are still my favorites of all time, and I am a huge fan of movies. Peace and goodwill.
