They Might Be Giants arent exactly local but they're not well-known, at all really. I love them.

There's an exellent power metal band called Blind Guardian. They're not local, but they made a huge album for LotR and they rock.

Relient K is a "Christian Punk Rock" band. Let me first state that PUNK ROCKERS DON'T PREFORM ON VEGGIE TALES.

blind guardian is awesome. but i have only heard curse of the feanor and the dark elf.

My favorite national bands are the Goo Goo Dolls, the Ataris, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. My favorite local bands are:

The Slurpees (my brother's band - Kinda like jam rock/power pop (somewhat like the Goo Goo Dolls)
Even All Out - Rock music, they've played a lot of shows with my brother's band.
Lower B - An acoustic band that rocks!
Stillview - Good rock and roll.

If you go to these sites, don't use the messageboards there, because most of them (or all of them) are meant for people that the bands know personally. Or, if you do use them, use the name Anonymous or something like that.

I have a strange taste in music. I mean i really like the chili's and opm and evanescence and loadsa others. but i also like hanson!!! they rock trust me if you listen to sum of their lastest stuff it is brilliant they have grown up into so much of a better band than they started out to be.
A local band i like are A Bit Loose. They are majors rockers. Plus a have a huge crush on the lead guitarist/singer. I know him aswell so its great. a few of my mates are in bands but i havent heard them play.

My cousin's in a band and I really like their music, it's kinda heavy metal like, they're called "Mangled Metal"...I'm trying to get a band togehter myself, but it's not really working to good...

Some bands I like: All American Rejects, Good Charlotte, Red Hot Chili Pepper's, Matchbox 20, Evanescance(sp?), System of a Down, Sum 41, Metallica, and a lot of others....I like a lot of different kinds of music...
