I sure would, along with the rest of Kubrick's films (except Eyes Wide Shut).

way too many 'best' movies to list... and far too many favorites, too...

But if I were stuck on a desert island with only one to watch it would have to be La Dolce Vita by Federico Fellini.

Conan the Barbarian (any situation, desert island or comfortable living room)

What is best in life?
The open steppe, a fleet horse, falcons at your wrists, and the wind in your hair.
Wrong! Conan! what is best in life?
To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.
That is good!

Also, Basil Poulideres' (however you spell it) score rocks!

For long, I had three special favorites:

Raiders of the Lost Ark
North by Northwest
It's a Wonderful Life

(the last should not be over-done - or it becomes under-appreciated)

Now... there's just SO MANY out there! Most of the ones mentioned here are very good. With-holding final judgement for the last installment, but I'm hoping "Lord of the Rings" will soon top my list!

Its one of these very rare films that trailblazes a new path. i put it up there with maybe American Beauty and a few others as far as films in the past 10 years that took film making down a new road and did it well. it doesnt follow a standard formula or copy some hollywood script. its truly novel and thats a rare thing to hear about a film nowadays. and more then that its a home run on all levels. it subtle yet brutle and intensly psychological. its a brilliant work. maybe you guys need to give it a few years then see it again and then maybe youll be in a position to appreciate it more. it wont work if yer coming into it excpeting some hollywood carbon copy. its stands on its own.

Fight Club is a much better picture then Pulp Fiction. Totally different film models going on there. both unique in their own way which is good but very different. just because they had the whole first person narrater thing going on doesnt mean they were the same.

And American Beauty is wholly different. You think it was like Fight Club?
