Thanks for the welcome, Gwaimir, and everyone. Sorry if i seem rude in any way, or if i say something rude later on. I'm new to pretty much all this stuff at entmoot or anywhere on the internet. I guess that makes me depraved in society today .

Beruthiel's cat returns to the Moot!
I know it's been a while, boys and girls, but here I am. Since I am gainfully unemployed at the moment ( ) I may get a chance to play here from time to time.
I may post some poems to the Writer's Forum soon. Am actually getting three of them published in an upcoming anthology. No money, just fame... Nice to be back!! Missed you all. (...We now return to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress... )

Hey there!
*wave*
Hey folks, nice to see such an active Tolkien resource. I thought i'd start by introducing myself and saying how I arrived: Well, firstly, I was introduced to this thread through www.merp.com where Michael Martinez, one of the leading Tolkien scholars notes 'Entmoot' as one of the more active and useful online resources. I'm 18 years old and I've been the member of a Tolkien MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) for just over two years now - the website, if anyone's interested, can be found in my homepage information. Ever since I discovered Lord of the Rings by J.R.R.Tolkien, I was fascinated and interested with the world and the history he'd created and as a member of a Role-Play Intensive MUD, I wanted to better familiarise myself with, and get a better grasp of the canon and history of Tolkien's books. Eventually, I'm hoping to begin a project for the MUD, though, I'd rather get a better grasp of things in a dedicated resource such as 'Entmoot' so, I thought here would be a good place to start If anyone wants to get in touch, feel free to PM me and maybe we can chat on MSN/AOL! Hello,
My wife is a big fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and a member of Entmoot (arien the maia), she coaxed me into joining so I could have fun with her. My least favorite character is Feanaro because of his desire to kill his own kin and make his sons promise to get back his jewels when he knew it was impossible to do. I really like Turin because he was brave. I have a son, Alexander Gabriel who will probably read the books because of his parents' love of the books. I also go to school, my major is Business. |

Thanks, Tamuril. Thanks, Farimir (is it okay if I just call you that?). It's been awhile since I came back to check here; sorry for ignoring you all. But I do share your pain, Farimir. I don't know any abbreviations, and there's also "the Rule" which I keep hearing about, and it's starting to scare me.

You need to go to General Messages, and read the rules for members. There are two topics of interest- Caution on Posting and Welcome Newbies which should be read to understand the basics of how we handle things here on the MOOT.

Yeah, Farimir is fine Tuinor. You could use that or the many other's that are used for me: Cappy, Cap'n, Faramir, Doug, FCoD(which makes me sound like some kind of fish), Captain, or just make one of your own.
The dreaded 90 second rule. It's a rule that won't allow you to make two post within a 90 second period. So, if you make a post you have to wait 90 seconds before you can make another. It annoys some of us more ambitious posters(they call us spammers, ha! ).
