I listen to some Christian music, but I can't think of any particular groups I like. It just depends on the song. I like some (but not all) songs by Seven-Day Jesus and Zoe Girl (sp?).

I do like most Veggie-Tales songs. I used to help watch the nursery at church, and the kids always wanted to watch the first Veggie-Tales sing-along. As a result, I know every song from that tape. I got pretty sick of Veggie-Tales for a while, but I like them again now.

I like singing hymns (they have harmony parts, and I like singing harmony), but I don't know if that's what was meant by the thread title.

Petra is cool, I like "Baby" (I think that's what it's called). Mercy Me is good as well. Hmm...Rebecca St. James is very talented

Seriously, check out LaRue, they have awesome songs ::runs around:: I first found out about them at a concert, and fell in love with their music.

It's Chris Rice.

I just got a CD called "the end and the beginning" by a guy named Matt Maher out of Mesa, AZ. This is one of the coolest CDs I've heard in a long time. It's Matt's first CD and I don't think it's really distributed so it's probably hard to come by if you're not in the Phoenix area. A friend of mine sent it up to me.

MXPX aren't christian-rock. People just seem to think that because in some of their earlier stuff (not even every song) they sang about jesus loving you, turning to jesus, and one of my fav's, 'sugar coated poison apple'.. which is as far as i can tell, about the garden of eden. but really, they're not christian rock. They're just christians who rock

Strange band though. Who the hell names a band magnified plaid? Anyways, if they're christian, so is kid rock

What I've heard about the "magnified plaid" name is that if you magnify plaid, it looks like it has tiny crosses all over it.

I don't listen to MXPX, but I know people who do. I've heard a couple of their songs; they weren't immoral songs, but they didn't seem Christian and were pretty pointless (and hard to understand!).

haha, what a fun thread! I'm not big into Christian rock like I was in grade 10, but what I like is quirky stuff.
Newsboys "Take Me to Your Leader" album will always hold a special place in my heart, as well as "Going Public". John James was the most, um... creative song writer I've come across in a long time.
Anybody ever heard of Steve Taylor?
I also like Audio A (the plant song on Underdogs!)
O.C. Supertones (how could I not? they're from my birthplace--mission viejo, CA...just a few blocks from my old house)
Jars of Clay has a new album out, but I haven't heard it
Burlap to Cashmere (although I'm not sure what kind of music you can classify it as)
Petra? that's old stuff! They were around in the 70s w/ Larry Norman! Gotta love the coloring song, though.

Actually Petra still puts out albums. They are a LOT of fun in concert too.

I met Rich Mullins in 1991 at Second Baptist in Houston where he was doing a concert. Wonderful sweet man. Can't believe he is gone.

And I like Michael Card.
