Father Ted is a British Sitcom - 1st fact: IT WAS IN THE RUN-UP IN THE BEST BRITISH SITCOMS!!!!

2nd fact:

Quote:
Production of Father Ted

The show was made by Hat Trick Productions

It was made for Channel 4 television in the UK

It was filmed on location in Ireland, and studio work was at the LWT studios, London
It may be set in Ireland and it may have Irish actors but it's a British Sitcom!

I admit I haven't seen much FT, but I like the ideas I've heard. The over 70s football was one I saw, and the speed take off with a milk float that couldnt drop below 5mph is one id love to. But i still dont think its as good as the real FT (wow, i didnt realise that until now... im subconsciously smooth!) fawlty towers.

I've never really liked Faulty Towers that much. Though I haven't seen that many episodes. I prefere John Cleese in Monty Python!

I watched all episodes of "Yes, Prime Minister" last spring when I had mono. Great fun! I absolutely loved the series.

I particularly remember the British sausage...offel something...

We only get to see Brit-Coms on PBS. I've liked most that I've seen, especially the Vicar of Dibley. Fawlty Towers is a real classic. Are You Being Served? seems to be showing continuously along with Keeping Up Appearances. DH is looking forward to The Office since he's been watching the US version. It's supposed to start sometime next month.

I've heard of absolutely none of them.

Father Ted is one that I've seen and one that I consider excellent. I think the reason it wasn't on the list of top ten is because of the many silly people who are offended by it.

A while ago, I saw part of a British sitcom on PBS. It's a longshot, but maybe someone can tell me what show this was. I never caught the main point of the episode and I didn't see the beginning or end, but I remember one point in the first half of the episode. A man is walking his big, fat, hairy dog and stops at the corner of someone's driveway, the dog taking a seat on the pavement and him standing by some shrubs. I think he was lighting a cigrarette or looking at a girl. Inside the house outside of which he's stopped, there are two old ladies, and one of them happens to walk past the window and she does a double-take, then exlaims something and says, "someone's left half a camel in our driveway!" It had me rolling on the floor, probably in part because it was on in the wee hours of the morning, but still I want to see more of that show.

Indeed it is. . I've been contemplating purchasing them on DVD if they're available as such.
