18 and 20 are very closely related, and much of the dicussion on and speculation on strgtey and heroic warfareoverlaps. I quess I should take both the major battles. Since much of the material will be usefull to both chapter, Rather than starting a near threa for #20, we may want to revive the #18 thread when starting the #20 discussion.

OK, I'll take Valaquenta to keep things moving, but I only have BoLT 2 and Morgoth's Ring (in addition to Hobbit, LoTR and Sil, of course!), so I'll need some help Oh, I also have "letters", which I love to quote at great length . Do you have it yet, SGH?
Oh, also Unfinished Tales. Maedhros, could you edit your first post on the thread to show people's names for the chapters they have? Or can SGH, with her mighty admin powers, do this?

“What does the term american refers to” asked the boy, and the wise man answered: “Lets look at the dictionary then.” As an adjective American is: 1. Of or relating to the United States of America or its people, language, or culture. 2. Of or relating to North or South America, the West Indies, or the Western Hemisphere. As a noun American is: A native or inhabitant of America. A citizen of the United States. Then the boy asked, “What is America then?”, and the wise man looked at the dictionary again: 1. The United States. 2. also the A·mer·i·cas. The landmasses and islands of North America, Central America, and South America. Confused, the boy asked, “Does the term american refers solely to a us citizen or to any person in North, Central or South America?” The wise man replied: “What do you think?”, and the boy answered: “It is clear to me that while the term american is used to refers to us citizens, one can also use it to refer to any person who is from that continent too,” the boy thought for a while and asked the wise man, “Am I right?”, and he replied: “But of course.” The boy wondered, why is it that some people refuse to acknowledge the fact that the term american refers not only to US citizens but to anyone of the American continent?, but then sadly, the boy understood, that it is the calamity of ignorance. |

Sister, thanks for welcome! I hope you won't regret it
Morgan, being at a forum with you is joy indeed As for Elwe, the least I can say is that with Melian being unable to leave Aman (embodied or not), and quite low competition from Humans in this world I feel quite safe. Happen what may, my soft spot for Sindar does not diminish

Hobbit???

I was also wondering why I suddenly have the title Hobbit under my appellation? I certainly am not one! It's Elven blood through and through for me! So, does this mean that I get to choose a new title? |

This text is called a title. The standard titles have Middle-earth themes and change based on how many posts you have. The titles do not have any practical function, though. Here are the titles: Sapling: 0-2 posts Hobbit: 3-49 posts Enting: 50-99 posts Elven Warrior: 100-499 posts Elf Lord: 500+ posts The default titles for moderators and administrators are "Huorn" and "Ent," respectively. Staff members and certain users may have their own custom titles. In some situations, the title "Smelly Orc" is given to spammers. Once you reach 500 posts Morgan, you may choose a custom title.
