Do you want to know how ****ing lazy the people I work with are!!!!!! I work in a deli and it takes more than 1 person to run it! We have a policy that says we have to take a meal break within 6 hours after clocking in. Said coworker knew i was pushing 6 hours, but decided to go on her 15 minute break. Five minutes before my six hours. Then bitched cause I took my meal break and left the rotissare(sp) chickens for her to put labels on. I had everything packaged and even had the time the chickens came out already written on the label. In the time she took to bitch about it, she could have had the damn things labeled and on the sales floor. Then she ****ing acted like she couldn't put the rods of chicken in the ****ing oven.

You know that feels a lot better.

Sometimes, organised religion really pisses me off. Sometimes, people who think they know the answer to everything and think they know what's absolutely right and wrong, and base it on something someone sometime long ago wrote or said, really blow my mind.

Yeah, I certainly think it's wrong to base an opinion merely on what someone else says Many, MANY people do this, both the "religious" and "non-religious" type.

Use your minds, people!!! THINK! Think through WHY you believe WHAT you believe!

This is a pet-peeve of mine, too. Close-minded people really tick me off, most especially ones who haven't thought through why they believe what they believe, or simply don't know.

Vent: Been feeling kind of lousy. Not really horribly or anything, just... Ack! It bothers me sometimes how much I screw up and hurt people with the things I do and say.
Also, I have to come into work an hour early all the rest of this week. It doesn't bother me all that much, because I like the job and I'll like the overtime even more, but it involves getting up at 4:15 am every morning. For someone already behind on sleep, this is bad news.

I hope your digestion is good ...

I think it's good to take your gut-feelings into account, too, but IMO one should go further and think about if they are valid or not, and why or why not. Sometimes, as Lewis points out, the right thing to do is go AGAINST your gut feelings, like if a person is drowning and someone comes to rescue them, their gut feeling is to grab onto the rescuer desperately and perhaps drown both of them.

I also think that many people suppress their gut-feelings if they go against popular culture.

Exactly. I have no problem with religious people, as long as they have some kind of an explanation to why they believe the way they do. I might not agree with the explanation, and that's not the point. Just as long as people don't let themselves be guided only by other people.

Yes, I agree!

Well, sounds like you had a bad run-in with some closeminded and/or unloving people, and I'm sorry to hear that

Vent - still fighting sick stomach, and am out of the food that makes it better, and it's raining outside ... I normally like the rain, but it makes it harder to go to the store, esp. when sick.

Sort of. Anyway, it got my mind off of the horribleness of the snow in a big hurry. That's a good thing. (Not that snow is so horrible--I'm just not a big winter person, especially not after having 60-degree weather last week. )

yeah, but even hearing closeminded/unloving things on tv is upsetting. Sometimes I just have to turn the tv off when I find it's getting to me too much.

No snow for us here - just rain ...

(thanks for the good wishes - I'm slowly getting better, just not as fast as I'd like )

You just wanted to let the people who are bothered by it that they are not the only people suffering from rain... Or, maybe not?

Spring always comes late, IMHO. I know that sounded kind of pessimistic, but, hey, it's the venting thread, right!?

Anti-Vent: We're in the rainy season . I love rainy seasons .

EDIT: Though I didn't like it when I stepped in a puddle today and had to walk half a mile home with one foot dry and warm, and the other totally soaked! That was a wierd feeling.
