I think it will effect his chance. Britain was very apparnt and very stongly against the War in Iraq. These people will vote for another party (I'm guessing the Tories.) The only problem with this is that in Britain we don't vote for the Prime Minister. We vote for local MP's. Which ever party with the most MP's has their official leader as Prime MInster.

Thanks, Valandil. There's not a lot to be gained by the usual bunfight.
OK, here's a question. Would voting Labour be more or less attractive if Gordon Brown were leader? Also, what do people think about the UK Independence Party? |

UKIP? They decided not to share, but to shaft. MWAHAHA!!! Have to love that classic footage...
EDIT: My new favourite web site! http://www.ukgameshows.com/index.php/Shafted Unfortunately, no moving footage, but an allusion to the brilliant hand movements! Oh sunny sis, I presume the 'didn't see that coming' was a tad sarcastic, nicht war? Was that resounding 'no' before or after the illegal forced postal ballot votes were discounted? (Or am I thinking of something else...?) I suggest a little trip to www.telegraph.co.uk to view Matt. Two good ones about the regional assembly.

EDIT for Janny's edit: Only 4 episodes got shown? How does one come back from a career failure like that? Ah, one tries (and fails) to become the leader of UKIP...

It is difficult thinking of voting labour (being a tradional labour supporter) when you know their leader is a Liar. Brown would appease me slightly, but i think there is too much croynism is labour ranks to make me vote for them next year.
BTW, with regards to WMD. Mr Blair, being an intelligent, former Barrister (no less) read the intelligence on Iraq and became "convinced" of Iraq's threat. However, subsequent reports and clarification of intelligence showed that Blair had been unbelievably blind. Noone can tell me that it was all a fix.

Yes, I think there are many thousands of people who could not stomach voting for Bliar.
However, true labour supporters, who are interested in redistribution of wealth, workers' rights and not killing foreigners to further enrich millionaires, are very much in the minority. Therefore, I wonder if it'll make any difference, since the people he's alienated are no longer his core supporters. Margaret Thatcher once replied, on being asked what was her greatest political legacy, "New Labour". Last edited by The Gaffer : 11-09-2004 at 01:44 PM. |

There is no real distinction anymore between Labour and conservatives. Both seem to become centre-right parties. Don't even mention David Blunkett! What do people think about the UK's relationship with the USA? And especially the imbecile Bush (whoops! i've already hinted at what i think )

I think he should just have been warned for his actions. His private life should be just that, private!

Boris Johnson?
*BoP goes to google* ... Ah. I think that it's wrongful termination. It's none of the party's business what he gets up to in his private life.

Ah yes, let's choose politicians based on whatever the tabloid press decrees is moral behaviour, that makes sense...
Might be worth pointing out that in World War II, America was governed by an adulterer and Britain by a chain-smoking heavy drinker. Only a certain Mr Hitler, a teetotal, monogamous vegetarian, would have passed the 'spotless private life' criterion.

Poor Boris, sacrificed to demonstrate Howard's moral credentials. And because he's better known and more popular than the entire Tory front bench put together.
The man is a legend on HIGNFY. Bit of a clown, of course and therefore completely unelectable were he to become leader, which is another reason why he shouldn't have been sacked. Having said that, his comments about Liverpool show that, underneath that bumbling, shambolic exterior, lurks a reactionary twat. |

to be honest, even liverpudlians (is it rude to say scousers?) have to agree that boris is much more likeable than that lord of the undead that the tory party have currently got.
