Thank you for answering me, Hector. I just recently got into politics, say, around October 2004 I would have responded in one word: Both.

Very true.
Samwise isn't American either. Darn.

Well shes a Cleveland Browns fan but she said she would lean toward the AFC (Pittsburgh) if she had to pick one.

But she in all seriousness wants to be commissioner of the NFL. Its her dream job. And shes really quite knowledgeable and passionate when it comes to Football. So I think the presidency would have to wait till after that for her and who knows how long Tagliabue will be in that seat.

As for Obama, well I dont think he wants to get shot either...

I don't know about you, but I would MUCH, much, MUCH rather see Condoleeza Rice as a football commissioner than as president of the United friggin' States. She gives me the creeps.

I say, Cookie Monster for President in '08!! Yay, Cookie Monster.

...especially after last year! There was one very good but very "too-far" sticker that went: Anybody who needs two Johns in the White House is Full of It

At least Bush might have something noble on his quarter when they start making them. Something like, capture of Saddam etc...what's Clinton going to have? The Lewinsky Affair, with a pic of him underneath the covers minted on the back

How about Balanced Budget.

Frankly I would be disturbed if EITHER of them were put on any kind of coin...

Most presidents havent been put on coins.......

Most recent president to get a coin was JFK - the JFK Half Dollar.

Eisenhower Dollar, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Lincoln Penny, Jefferson Nickel

So 6 out of 43 have coins.

Look at how neck-and-neck Hillary R. Clinton and Conoleeza Rice are!

read the post you quoted

FDR is on the dime. Eisenhower was on a dollar coin - those were made from 1971-1978.

Finally! Now I Know.
That one's been bugging me for ages.

I wonder whatever happened to the idea for having Truman and Reagan on coins...

love that pic of cookie!

Im from Ohio but i live on the West Virginia border so we get alot of news from there and ive heard Joe Mansion might be running. This was before the coal mining accident which put him in the national news. This might give him a better chance at winning some votes depending on how people thought he handles the situation. I know he has made alot of changes in the way the mines are checked since then and everyone here seems to love him.

Sorry, I cannot support Tolkien for the following reasons:

1. He is not a native-born US citizen, and I am averse to changing the US Constitution for one person.

2. He is dead.

3. If he WERE still alive, there is a MUCH more valuabel service he would still have to perform - writing more about Middle Earth!

Admin Note:

OK that is enough. This is a serious topic so no more fictional characters or dead people (especially dead people who wouldn’t be eligible to run even if they were alive!).
