I love entmoot because there people are funloving and humourous in stark contrast to some sites I mentioned in my latest post at the Official languages thread.

I LOVE the Mooooot, 'cause it gave mum a shock when she saw the phonebill..
No, really, I truly love Entmoot 'cause there are so many interesting persons here, I have got the chance to practise my English and because you people have helped me see things with a more open mind. Thanks for that.

I usually steer away from "Why [somebody] loves/hates/attacks [someone]" threads, but this one is different - it's the Moot!
*cough* JD didn't start the political debates, and he probably wasn't about to. Anyway, I agree with Tessar, MOOT HUG! *Moothugs everyone* I love Entmoot because it's a sizable, yet not disorganized gathering of intelligent Tolkien lovers. It provides the opportunity to discuss in depth the greatness of Tolkien, and other topics, as well as have some fun.

Okay, I have to thank the moot. It has allowed me to maintain the very important art of waffling. Which is important when you have to write a research proposal that is due in in two days. I just knocked up a preliminary one, and it took an hour. And it's all thanks to the moot that I've maintained this very important skill.

hmmm i like the moot because its usually got a few threads that i find interesting, people are opinionated (JD of course )and intelligent (Rian has never made a stupid comment to my knowledge, i do daily )and creative (thats probably everybody here, with the exception of Lin who still wont embrace manson after all my whining ), and of course humorous (BoP has got to be Queen of the witicism, must also grant JD one, Millaney Insaney thats great)

i love all sorts of things... so throwing a message board or two in there isn't too big a thing
that said, the moot's certainly one of my favorites... and a board's only as good as it's members (and it's mods )

I like entmoot because it's very laid back, yet it's well moderated. There is another message board I go to every once in a while. It's about Final Fantasy, actually. It's good once in a while to read the posts and get opinions on things, tips, etc. It is not a place to make friends. If you double post (as in, two different posts in a row- not just the same post), "spam" which constitutes anything that is not immediately related ot the exact topic or contains less that a paragraph, or say anything stupid (at mod/admin discretion) or are not a good typer, you'll get yelled at, and not often too nicely, your posts might be deleted, etc etc. I'm sure there are lots of boards like this out there, but I mean, come on. There's a difference between a board that's moderated by rational people who just like to keep the board looking nice, and board that are moderated by nazis. Even the users yell at you if they find a way to nitpick your post (which they do) or find something they personally don't agree with.
In closing, yeah, I really like Entmoot. |

Where else could I unleash my sheep and pants people at will? Okay, actually, I do that on other boards as well...
