Trivia
Well, offhand, I get "The Akallabeth" in the Silmarillion, "The Fall of Numenor" in the Lost Road, and "The Drowning of Anadune" in Sauron Defeated. But I believe there's stuff about it in the Peoples of Middle-Earth, and also stuff about Numenor in Unfinished Tales, but I don't know if you're counting these. And, are not the Notion Club Papers based on the Inklings? Pharazir

Re: Trivia
correct. The complete list was The Drowning of Anadune the Alkallabeth The Notion Club Papers (I count it at least) The Lost Road Fall of Numenor History of the Alkallabeth The second answer to the second question is still to be found. The question was Who were the characters in the Notion Club Papers based on. The easy and obvious answer has been found.

Re: Trivia!
That was their names in Aman like Gandalfs was Olorin.
In Middle Earth they are known as Morinehtar (darknes-slayer) and Romestamo (east-helper) source: Peples of Middle Earth page 384 and 385. Maglor |

Re: Trivia
Yes, I think it was loosely (the characters) based on the Inklings, and having just read the book by Humphrey Carpenter, I would think that the meetings were pretty closely based on the Inklings too.
The second part of the Notion Club Papers is my favourite. |

i know this thread is pretty much dead, given the fact that the last post was back in 2000 and so i thought, why not revive it?
(if any of the moderators don't like that, let me know) we all know that the vala nienna is the 8th aratar and she weeps for the suffering of arda... some time, she had a "student" under her wing, teaching pity and endurance that would later be a a great influence to this student in the later years to come, the war of the ring... who is this "student" of Nienna? |

Well, I'll stay on the subject of Nargothrond.
What was another name for the Guarded Plain of Nargothrond?

No Nargothrond questions for SGH. That's always a mistake.
I guess "The plain of Talath Dirnen"
