HoME IV The Shaping of Middle-earth (need to double check on this one)
HoME V The Lost Road and other writings
HoME XI The War of the Jewels

I sure IV does but since I don't have the book around I'm guessing. But in either IV or V is where the legend first appeared. XI contains the last writings he did on Maeglin.

Thank you both! I want to read them in order, and I figure I have plenty of time before I do my ch., but since I plan to read The Silm again (as per your suggestion in the other thread, MB ), I want to skip ahead a little.

HoME III The Lays of Beleriand
and HoME IV all have info, but III is only a real small amount.

You should try a different series of books such as: "His Dark Matireals,"If girl
"Unicorns of Balinor" is a good one
Boyz try:Starwars novels for advanced readers only!!!!!!!!!!!!!maybe the Madelene L'Engle series cause they all seem to be intertwined

Okay, thanks! That's very helpful! I hope they have these at my library. We have no bookstore around here, but I'll drive to find one somewhere if I have to. MUST PERSEVERE, ALL IN THE NAME OF MOOTING!!

First of all, this is offtopic, because he asked what Tolkien book to read next. Second, why should girls and boys read differant things? His Dark Materials, for example, is great for everyone. (Only series you listeed that I've read.)

Sorry for going offtopic. Rant over.

It looks as of right now, unless someone takes the re-assignment of Chapter 5 in the Sil project, that the project for now is dead in the water.

Well, if no one else does it, I'll do it, but as you know, I haven't read any of the supporting materials. I'll wait a couple of days, and in the meantime re-read that ch., and if by that time no one has volunteered, I'll make an attempt, if you think that would be okay. I'd hate for it not to continue, it's been so helpful to me so far!

azalea, here is a link to a book list that contains links to where you can buy the books online.
http://onering.virbius.com/booklist.php
It's also a good site, that's where I found this board.

That would be great. I have put up a sticky in the forum for re-assignments if someone wants to take an abandoned chapter, or to post that they will not be able to do their chapter. If within a couple days, if no one takes chapter five, post in the sticky and let me know you still want to do it and are ready to post the chapter. Thanks azalea. It would be a shame for the project to be scrapped so early on, when it has been doing so well.

Sounds good to me, SGH.
Uh oh, the pressure's on.
Thanks for that link, MB. I just got through w/ a VERY bad experience buying a book online, so I think I'll try to find a bookstore before I attempt the online thing again, though!
