Thank you both! She's still with us, but she's asleep most of the time. But she woke up a few times during the hours I spent with her today, for only a little while each, and she saw me and recognized me and smiled at me, and seemed to be happy to see me. Some precious moments. *pops out again*

Greetings my fellow Tolkien Nuts!!! I'm a member of "The council of Elrond" Forum and while looking for a Sindarin Writing Group, I found this site. Obviously, I signed straight up as I can't bear the thought of not being a member of anything Tolkien related! lol!
Lemme see, I'm 25, from Sheffield in the UK and have been reading Tolkiens work for going on 10 years (started with the hobbit, as I'm sure most people do, then LOTR, then The Sil, now, whenever I decide to read Tolkiens works, I always do them in order [chronalogically ... don't know how to spell it! lolo].) I started writing with the Tengwar (Sindarin mode, english wording, but I'm learning Sindarin ... well ... Trying to!) about 18 months ago and have become pretty proficient, I am now just looking for some-one to write to, as it's a little boring just writing to myself! lol! Any-ways, I hope your all well! Speak to you soon. Oh, and my names Nikki for any that want to know! lol! May the Valar protect you and guide you through your days. NdC

I should hope so; it's been sheer anarchy here in the absence of La Prez!

Actually, he seemed to disappear around the same time you did, if I have been following the Teacup closely enough.

I think Acalewia and Hector are the same person. But we can discuss that in another thread so that this one doesn't get dragged off topic. |

Howdy folks!
I signed up on here a while back, but then I never posted or anything. However, I intend to change that! Anywho, my name is Katie, I'm 18 (soon to be 19) years old and I'll be starting my sophomore year in college in a few short weeks. I'm awful at introductions and even online I'm fairly shy, so please bear with me as I try my hardest to get to know you folks. Let's see...once upon a time, I guess about 7 years ago, a friend talked me into watching FotR and TTT and then we went out to see RotK. Afterwards, I vaguely remember reading the books, and I really can't remember when I first read The Hobbit. Anyway, then about a year ago I was discussing books on another forum with some of my friends and the topic of LotR came up, and I decided to go for it again, so I did... Then I came to find out that my English professor teaches a course on Lord of the Rings, so I took it (and enjoyed every second of it) this past semester. This semester he's teaching a course on Tolkien, Lewis, and Rowling, and I, of course, signed up for that. I can't wait for class to start! So yeah, all that and here I am, lol. Sorry to ramble. It's nice to meet you all! |

I used to go by the name "BloodKat" (no real meaning --aside from "Kat" for "Katie" -- it just seemed kinda cool at the time, lol) everywhere and eventually got sick of it. So I switched it to SeregKat. "Sereg" meaning "blood" in Sindarin.
I wish I had a more interesting story behind it, but I don't. :-P I'm not too good at making up clever screen names, haha. |

Once upon a time, Butterbeer asked me if my screenname came from what is apparently a children's book (in some other time or place than me) called "Mary, Mungo and Midge". I had never heard of that book, but it was pretty funny.
Mine's actually a nickname given me because of my small stature. I'm making a pie. It's amazing how much of a mess good baking can produce.

That's the part I hate about baking. I like the testing of the baked product though!
Welcome Seregkat, though if you don't mind I'm going to stick to Kat. I don't do long names I hope you'll like it here. And do tell us more about that course!

Thanks! Kat is perfectly fine. Preferable, even.
Hmm, well which one do you want to know about and what exactly do you want to know? lol |
