It's a pity it's come to this,
Now that it has though, Godspeed, good luck, and most of all happy recontructioning! It's perhaps fitting that it begins on Purim. As I recall the first gulf war began around the same time.

Wasn't Purim a holiday about the Jews defeating their enemies, or is my brain screwed up again?

Everyone dies, at least some people are dieing for a cause they believe in. Others, are dieing for the Allies their country supports. All are dieing for a cause, whether or not it's the right one, depends. I personally rejoice in the fact that a dictator will be taken out of power, innocent people will die, but innocent people die everyday. I think Saddam and Udai and his other relatives that believe in his cause will fight to the bitter end. Although, I believe most of the Iraqi soldiers will not. Ta-da.

Do you remember the beginning of the movie "Air Force One"? That's how we should do it. Just bust right in on his palace with special ops and drag him out in the street. Not that it'd be that easy.

i wanted to start a thread like this but since its already been done, i have a very important message for all mooters.
i know there is great social tension right now between the US and France. the US is upset with the French because they will not support the war on Iraq and the French are upset because the US is going against the will of the UN and will be going to war if Sadam (sp?) will not leave Iraq (or something like that) i am american, and i am against the war. there have been too many sacrifices made already. now im sure maybe some french citizens are for the war against Iraq. so there are groups of people who disagree with their leaders. message for ALL mooters: just because many countries are very upset with one another right now, doesnt mean we have to be upset with eachother. this is a site for LOTR fans, and i think we should keep it just that, and not be angry at one another just because there is social unrest between countries at the moment. sure, we can argue on political points or can disegree on ideas, but i dont think it is necessary to make nasty comments about other countries, because not everyone in that country may have the same opinion as their leader. thats all for now.

I agree with you when you say "Just because people are mad doesn't mean we have to be mad with eachother" or something like that.
I appreciate that you tastefully said you are against the war, but didn't make others listen to your reasons and why everyone who believes in the war will got o hell. Thank you. Back to business Khamul- Which palace?!

I think there is a chance of him leaving Iraq - I mean he seems like a coward. If I were in his place, I would leave asap - thousands of american troops ready to take your country in a matter of days.

Just as another Tolkien character said (in the movie mind you ):
...War is upon you, whether you would risk it or not! *I edited out "Open" from it so no need to try and correct me *

And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin "Oh. If anyone missed it or it wasn't aired where you are or what have you, here is a copy of the speech by Bush tonight:

One of my favorite parts of the speech tonight is this passage:

Ultimately these four paragraphs sum up everything:
