Some of Anna Ancher's paintings reminded me a little of the "Skagen painters".

That last pic is very neat, Nerdy. It's not a dandelion, is it? The base seems too brown.

Indeed she was one of them - the only woman in the group.

Likewise, I've tried though but my eyes don't have the zoom of camera lenses.

Lovely pictures as always.

wow - these are stunning! I never get the moon to be so big. I guess you have a really good tele-lens. I only have a 55-200. Barely enough to take a pic of a blackbird.

well, it's not actually very good... it's very cheap and goes up to 250mm (which effectively is 375mm on my camera). the image of the moon is somewhat cropped, too. it's surprisingly sharp for the price we paid for it, though.. :P

glad you like the photos!

Yosemite has just jumped up my list of places to visit.

Those falls are amazing. Fattened up by meltwater or are they always like that?

You're welcome!

Gaffer, it was definitely a higher-than-usual water flow, but it's always beautiful there. But if you go at the end of the summer, the falls will be very low, or even a trickle in a bad year. Also, be prepared - the valley floor is definitely crowded but there are still plenty of hikes where you can get away from it all. NEVER EVER go on a holiday weekend, though!
