Hey, Azrael, you might consider posting your songs in the Writer's Workshop from now on, although I personally don't really have a problem with you using the teacup cafe for them every once in a while--if you plan to do it consistently though, you probably ought to use the writer's workshop .

I will say that the lyrics seem alright, except that you really seem to leap around a lot. There is a central theme, definitely, but I feel like you could do more to pull it together and be a bit more cohesive. You might run into a few problems because unless I'm reading it funny, I believe the meter/rhythm changes from paragraph to paragraph. Also unless you plan to chop it up into verse/chorus/bridge etc. sections then what you have is more a poem than a song.... assuming you plan to write it in a typical pop music style.

Many wonderful songs don't follow that style though. You might check out Loreena McKennitt if you're interested in a wonderful artist who doesn't always follow the typical verse/chorus/bridge style.

I see the two of them saying to each other "When you do this it hurts my feelings..." and since they chose to do it in the middle of the Teacup, I'm weighing in with my opinion.

I didn't mean to be mean and belittling. I liked the words of the song. I was just proof-reading... maybe I snapped. It's not like all of us at the Moot bother typing perfectly... Sometimes I just want to go through and edit all your posts to be mechanically and grammatically correct.

So... sorry, Az, if you thought I was being mean. I wasn't. I saw it more as doing you a favor, fixing all the spelling mistakes for you and stuff.

believe it or not your right...and i did that on purposes. Its an acoustic/metal song, and on every paragraph it gets heavier and in the second one my metal petal comes in and on "eloi, eloi" it comes in full force. Plus the reason it seems like its jumping is He is looking back and the course is the present and the first part of the song is in the garden of olives....well must go get fireworks...brb its right down the road

Does anyone here live where shooting off fireworks is legal?

I have a huge amount, but one of my neighbors is a busybody.

I guess that to really understand how this works, I'd have to hear it.

Well, not legal, lol. But the neighbors used to get together and do a little show in a local park. All grown-ups and the audience roped off and so forth, the kids had sparklers.

One of my neighbors is a fireworks guy... professional. So he's pretty tense on the subject of safety and he had it shut down.

I dunno. Fireworks are dangerous and people are stupid. But I think a few little fountains among friends shouldn't be a problem.

Actually, a friend and I got into a fireworks fight and we lit his hair on fire.

Yes, fireworks are dangerous.

Sounds like you'll have a glorious July 4th, Sis . Are you planning on any particularly good meals, too?

My head's in my stomach right now .

Oh, swell. Summer is super laid back, for me. A lot of lying down and closing your eyes in the heat, with mooting and reading in between the naps.

I'll probably get to go to the beach Thursday . That'll be fun. I love boogie-boarding.

How are you spending the summer? Beyond work, I mean (though what kind of job do you have?).
