The one following me was a young woman -- a girl, really I stopped and looked at her in surprise. I KNEW that girl! <Ailin? What are you doing here?>

"You're unconcious? This is one wierd day..." I dumped water one her, and she jumped up...it was ice cold water! I know, I know, that was mean, shut up...no one wants me to have any fun...

I nodded and the three of us ran further into the woods, into a small clearing, where a den of foxes faced a terrible battle...

ic: It was Mara, the black fox, leader of the foxes and grandmother of Terwell, along with many high-ranking foxes, in council. Several wargs had surrounded them; the foxes were trapped. Ailin, Terwell, and I were about to plunge into battle, but something seemed...wrong. The wargs weren't attacking the foxes...why not? <Wait,> I said, <I'm going to talk to them.> Terwell gave me a look, but made no move to attack. And Ailin, who didn't know what was going on, simply stared at the wargs.

Danger looked up, smelling other wargs. He seemed unworried, as though it concered him not.

Danger looked at me, as though saying it had nothing to do with him. Perhaps foolishly I belived him. He did not speak again for the rest of the day, excpet to look at me with an expresion that told me what he thought.
