Whoa. That is... strange breeds, or what?

You know, I'm beginning to regret that I found my way here only last August, and not earlier...

(Though it would have been a pain with the dial-up, and only allowed to use the net one hour a week... )

Oh my. I only read the first page, and am already laughing out loud - my bro just shouted from the other room asking if I was okay. Those mental images. *cracks up laughing*

I remember those threads and pictures! Funny!

Remember the discussion of Hobbit foot hair and if the women shaved their feet?

Like the movies or hate them, they seemed to stimulate a lot of fun conversation.

I think it would be better if you did. Remember, something is only personal if you let it be.

It's just as important to let people vent and express their annoyances as it is for them to express their opinions, as long as the language is kept respectful and the dead horse isn't beaten too frequently.

That's all I did, brownie - I, too, vented and expressed my annoyance. And I kept it respectful.

I think the mods do a pretty good job - it's a tricky business to manage people as diverse as we are here. I think that there is some unfair treatment of some people, but my guess is you and I differ as to who the people are! Whatever - the vast majority of the experiences here are great, and we just need to let the bad ones go their way and get forgotten, and I don't think people should be too critical of mods until they've tried it themselves. That's MHO.

I figured it would be. I do it and I run a board so I know all about how hard it is to be fair. Of course that is only a problen when a site professes to be fair. The trouble is when a certain ideaology permeates such a site and those with power have obvious leanings due to their ideology. Usually in these places, those who are more agreeable in ideology will stick around, wheras other who don't necessarily see things the same will either be loud and get banned, or will quietly go somewhere else. This is just part of my formed opinion based on participation in many an online communities over the last ten years.

good grief I can't even read the two previous pages because all it says is censored...were you guys downloading explicit images or something? by the look of things Grand Admiral TB was getting very little respect either. Do NOT Tempt fate by angering EDDIE!

I wonder if months in the future there will be a thread devoted to talking about the fun that was had in this thread *reflectively sarcastic*

when the sage of the mountain speaks ... you would do well to listen ...

also-
Ri - i too agree with BJ - whatever rights or wrongs (and this subject is here closed) - having an avowed policy of : i will not let any such post or implication pass - as a publically stated policy will help no one- neither your good self nor anyone else who enjoys sharing the board with you.

Indeed, as BJ says so perceptively: things are only personal if you (or anyone else for that matter) make them so.

seek not to see not the perceived evil in every comment, comma or person, which oftimes may not in intent be there - but see the good and the beauty and have love in your heart...

... failing that have a swig o' rum and and a contentment cookie ...

you guys should take a leaf out Lief and myself's book - we enjoy the cut and thrust of debate and the banter- but we do not let it get personal ... we do it with a smile

even when he does bait me!!! .. only kidding!! ...

we merely act as Gentleman and take it out on the philosophy field, at dawn, with a nice picnic for later ...

best, BB

That too....But I do have to laugh at these people taking the debates so personally. I either A) laugh when it happens to me or B) Leave.

But why would they want to track a body down in the first place? You owe them money or something? Neh, I am a bounty hunter... I just tracked down and jumped on a friend who owed another friend some sort of computer game. And I did it all at a bargain price of a cookie and milk.

alive please!

I mean the Gaffer trap is literally humming away like 5 mile island .... there's tasty cheese down there everywhere too ...

but not a dickie-bird yet from the taters ...

Just take it easy, will ya! If you keep pressuring him, you might scare him away even more! Just relax, O.K.? He'll be here, eventually. No bounty hunters, no blitzkrieg of personal e-mails, just relax, our Gaffer'll return in his own time. Anyway, I think he has a young family, you know families & young babies and stuff they take a lot of time and energy. Makes it probably harder to moot, I'd imagine. Really, long-post mooting is a luxury, I've always thought. To be able to spend so much time pleasurably mooting, for hours? It's a total luxury.
