This might be wrong and it might have also been said already but... God did not have to actually create evil. He created good, and the absence of good is evil. Make sence?

Not true, Christians are rewarded in life and also in death...

Oh, and Emplynx, what if one is Christian, but is not good?

The very tenet of their faith, you could say.

God did create evil. Doesn't Emplynx read his bible?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Why has Emplynx neglected to comment on points (1) and (3)?

Hmm, you assume I even have a Bible...

Actually, I have four:

(Three in hardcopy)
King James Version
New International Version
Standard Revised Version

(One in electronic format)
Young's Literal Translation.

And I'm planning on buying the Septuagint at some later stage...

See? I'm your regular Thumper.

Sheesh, boring in here.

Enough talk about good.

Prove to me that evil can be relative.

Can you have absolute evil?

Show me the absolutely evil entity, and I'll show you the woman behind him.

So you're saying that women are inherantly more evil?

I'm saying I've yet to meet someone who is absolutely evil. Even Hitler had his good points.

And yes, women are inherently more evil than men. It's called manipulation.

Then, well, one is simply human.

You should know that

Not true.

Anyway, I don't believe PEOPLE, mortal beings, non-ethereal beings, what have you, can be purely good or purely evil (I don't count Jesus among this, because Him being the Son of God makes him an ethereal being).

Dictionary.com:

1. Characterized by lightness and insubstantiality; intangible.
2. Highly refined; delicate. See Synonyms at airy.
3.
a. Of the celestial spheres; heavenly.
b. Not of this world; spiritual.
4. Chemistry. Of or relating to ether.

Starr's comment is intriguing. She seems to be saying that only ethereal beings can be purely good or purely evil. Maybe in her next post she will provide the biblical (or other) evidence for that assertion.

It should be noted that Jesus was not entirely ethereal when he lived upon the earth, in that he was composed of both soul and flesh. In fact, one could say that he was just as ethereal as anyone else. It follows that Jesus, during the time that he is claimed to have physically existed on Earth, was neither purely good nor purely evil.

Starr says that people can't be purely good or evil, yet Jesus (or God) was a person.
She says that mortal beings can't be purely good or evil, yet Jesus was a mortal being in the same way that we are all mortal beings - by Christian theology our flesh dies but our souls go on.
She says that non-ethereal beings can't be purely good or evil, yet all humans (having souls) are partly ethereal, in the same way that Jesus was partly ethereal when he lived on Earth.

Perhaps I should have said deities. And I don't consider Jesus to be 'mortal', although he did die, in a sense, but not in one that we can understand.

More later, it's early morning and I have to go to school.
