Sounds interesting- lot of language study, I'd guess.

Especially Aramaic:

Quote:
ARTHUR: There! Look!

LANCELOT: What does it say?

GALAHAD: What language is that?

ARTHUR: Brother Maynard! You are a scholar.

MAYNARD: It's Aramaic!

GALAHAD: Of course! Joseph of Arimathea!

LANCELOT: 'Course!

ARTHUR: What does it say?

MAYNARD: It reads, 'Here may be found the last words of Joseph of Arimathea. He who is valiant and pure of spirit may find the Holy Grail in the Castle of aaarrrrggh'.

ARTHUR: What?

MAYNARD: '...The Castle of aaarrrrggh'.

BEDEVERE: What is that?

MAYNARD: He must have died while carving it.

LANCELOT: Oh, come on!

MAYNARD: Well, that's what it says.

ARTHUR: Look, if he was dying, he wouldn't bother to carve 'aarrggh'. He'd just say it!

MAYNARD: Well, that's what's carved in the rock!

GALAHAD: Perhaps he was dictating.

I've been so cold for the past few days! I'm wrapped up in several layers and even considering turning on the heating. But at the same time my room smells like the windows have been shut for ages, so I do want to keep my window open. Dilemma!

I'm having the same problem exactly (cold, multiple layers of clothing, heating still off etc). But I find usually with keeping the window open for just an hour or so and the room-door closed that the room smells fresher afterwards even with the window closed. I usually try to keep the window open a hour or two per day when I'm not using that room.

Where has our summer gone?

I could have sworn I saw a glimpse of one in June, but then it somehow just turned into one long intro to autumn.

After lots of too-hot, fall hit here with a bang a couple of days ago. Brrr . . . sweaters being deployed.

Yeah, that.
I caught a cold, so that explains the not being able to warm up from yesterday and the day before. It also explains the bags under my eyes and the red nose. *sigh*

Veel beterschap. I got rid of my (sort of) cold about ten days ago. Having to buy coughing syrop in August feels just wrong in so many ways.

Don't worry about it, Tess. A huggly smiley makes up for a lot

Earn, thanks. And yeah, that is just plain wrong. Unless you have allergies or something.

Oi, don't get cocky, kiddo. I can thwirl this plastic gecko faster than you can hit a C.

But for your information I wished for her to get well soon. Next time you can just learn Dutch like the rest of the civilised world.

I'm going to be so incredibly sore tomorrow: I went to badminton practice for the first time in almost 7 years (the 2 week stint in Japan not counted) and although I'd been doing some dance workouts the past few months it's still going to hurt. >_<
At least I could keep up with a pretty high pace.
They have a good coach though. He commented more on my style and the way I carry myself during the game than my coach from 7 years ago managed to do in 3 years...

Way back in 1972, having just turned 18, I decided to take up my trusty backpack, leave Canada, and spend the next couple of years on the Road- Europe, Africa and Asia. I deliberately chose September 22 as the day of my departure.

Happy Birthday, BB and FB.

I had a nasty waking: someone, likely some stupid kid, threw something on my window with a loud *thump*; an apple or something. Then, when I've gotten up a little later, I found a dead hedgehog on my backyard... A rotten morning, to be sure.

EDIT: And what a perfect number of posts I have!

Midge, I know you're good with English-y things like I am, but I gotta say this one took me a bit to figure out. The answers seem obvious, but you're going to be surprised by the outcome.
