Hehe, don't worry about it. I've been sick since Christmas and it took the doctors a while to diagnose it, but now I have the right meds so you can almost see me improve.
How are you doing? Did anything special for Christmas or New Year?

We Finnish tend to do it pretty often. Those who dare, that is. And we do it in the thousands of lakes we have here, not in the sea. But you may be surprised by the amount of dare-devils, which I do not know however.

I haven't dared. Hardly will. Cold weather and rain, snowfall and mist I can manage. They don't bother me in the slightest. But if I do not have the proper clothing or other protection from the cold, the lack of heat and life is unbearable. Get me? It doesn't matter how cold it is, as long as it can only creep on my face.

I was quite excited about the dress... It was the first productive thing that happened after I deleted my Facebook (a VERY good thing, IMO). I did NOT know you enjoy sewing...

I plan on uploading pictures to here as soon as I can figure out something to get them online (probably Flickr). I did have a revelation. I've had a revelation-ful week. Most of it probably belongs in the Theology thread, but I won't post it there because I don't really want it torn to shreds. Not that I think it won't hold up, but I've *almost* completely sworn off the debate threads.

I've got a FEW of those. Most of the time we were in the mountains, we were also in the car, and past experience has taught me that taking pictures from a car just doesn't work. It might have made you brand me the kind of person who can't take good pictures!

Actually, some of the Garden of the Gods pictures are kind of blurry. It's sad, because they were SO good in person. There was one view of Manitou Springs that was so quaint and beautiful... it was this little town sitting at the base of the mountain. It wasn't very big and you could see all the lights of the town.. but it was the most blurry of all. I was SO upset! Kind of.

Making clothes is really satisfying. A few years ago I made myself two pairs of pants with the help of my mother and her sewing machine (I did all of the sewing) and I still wear them with pride! Sewing is an extremely useful skill!

I should do it again...

Depending on the reason of the move you need prove that you have a job or a place at a university, you need a permit of residence or something like that, you need to prove that you are healthy and have enough funding to survive in that country without having to make use of their social security network. Sometimes you need proof that you speak the language.
That's pretty much the governmental side.
Then you need whatever you think you need for living there (clothes and stuff), planeticket, housing, etc.

Empress can probably tell you a whole lot more, seen as that she is the one who just moved from the US to the UK.
Has anyone heard from her lately? I wonder how her F-I-L is doing...
