Good for you, Aika - then you will know it far better when you go back

Yay for dictionaries! Though it would have been more practical to study Kimaasai before you went to Kenya rather than after

I am happy because I bought a Wii + Wii Fit with a very nice discount

It would - but if it took her this many weeks in Kenya before she found a dictionary, I guess that she wouldn't have been very likely to have found one in London before she went

She will know it when she goes back, though. Perhaps in a couple of years?

Since I'm getting all of my laundry done before going to DC, I've been doing a lot of washing.

We have this new laundry detergent... it's arm and hammer I think.... and OMG. It makes my clothes smell like HAPPINESS WRAPPED UP IN GUMMYBEARS!!!! *sheds a tear* These are the most delicious my clothes have ever seemed.

*bursts out laughing* Tessar, sometimes you are beyond words ^_^
It seems like we've spent our day in much the same way though. Did you perhaps also bake cakes?

FINISHED WITH ALL THE EXAMS!!! Woohoo! Finally. (Unless I messed one up and have to do retakes)
And to celebrate our freedom, we had an indoor picnic (because the weather turned rather bad) which was fun. The cakes turned out well too

Yes...but Varna's quite right. If even Kenyan bookshops don't stock the dictionaries (I got mine from a little obscure church shop in another town) I'd have no chance of finding anything in London. A bookshop online has it - for $135 Mine was considerably less expensive.

Kimaasai is actually easier to learn than I first thought. All the verbs I decided to start with (to be, to go, to have and other such useful things) are the incredibly irregular ones, it;s no wonder I was confused. Less common verbs are nice and regular.

Awesome! Well done! For both the exams and the cakes.

Isn't that the same in a lot of languages? It certainly is in English - and even in Norwegian, at least to be and to go are irregular verbs. To be is often the most irregular verb of a language - and you need to start with it, because you need to use it so much

How much longer will you be there? Are you coming back to Europe soon? I seem to remember something about July ...

Dear Moot,

Am being slowly murdered at Opera Camp. Have never been happier in life. OMG wish this was what school was like all of the time.

Love,

Now let's hope they won't send me back on the next plane home at the Canadian border

I had an INCREDIBLE time at the opera camp, and despite spending my entire day in airports today getting flights delayed, cancelled, and gates switched like crazy I got to fly at night which was GORGEOUS. The cities looked like a million tiny fireflies winking away on the ground.

Also my dog was so happy to see me that she rolled over and peed on the carpet. It was touching. ^_^

A few days ago I started brushing with baking soda once a day, and rinsing my mouth out with 1/2 hydrogen peroxide 1/2 water afterwards, and even with just doing it once a day my teeth are definitely whiter.

Yaaay!

It's not like I have bad stains or anything... I was just curious to see if I could whiten my teeth at all without needing a kit or something.

My mouth feels a lot cleaner, too.

Y'know, you have quite some dedication getting on the innernecks when you're travelling. This is like the first solid bit of interneting I've done since I got back (flew back to NZ this morning). Managed FB maybe twice? Checked my bank balance. Stop mooting, start living, Mari!

Somehow, for me, travelling and internet just don't mix. In fact, holiday is not just the time to be away from the internet, it is somehow essential to the holiday that you don't have access to the internet. I still think it strange when my sister mails me when she's away on holiday. But I reckon that might just be me.

In any case, enjoy your trip across the pond, Mari!

My summers at my family's cabin are internet free. Basically I only get online at the library to check my bank balance and perhaps buy a train ticket home at the end of the summer. And the trip to the library requires an hour on a ferry...

I agree with BoP and Eärniel. Interneting should be done at home instead
