True enough, but most people dont go out and shop for crap on purpose. If you know what you are looking for and have a basic idea about mechanics, chances are you wont be saddled with a lemon.

By a very slim margine. Not saying it can't happen, but if you know what you're about, and more importantly know what the car is about, you shouldn't run into any problem. That and if you have a good reliable mechanic to ordain it, you're more or less good to go.
It could also be argued that you can be saddled with a lemon the moment you roll off the dealership lot. THAT can most certainly be argued for.

I really dont know. We were driving down the road and the door seal flew off on both sides, then the door rattled loose, and the dash boiled. I was a little scared.

Runs it into the ground, doesn't add or change oil, lets it overheat in summer...tears out the interior to try and rewire everything and fit in huge stereo system....
