I think I'll be quite happy to stay in the dark about that a bit longer.

Hi everyone too! I'm in a pretty good mood today. I did better than expected on my CS test (can't wait to get it back and see what I got), and I've been nailing all my calculus quizzes (daily, for the past week until end of semester) too. I hope I can get decent grades this semester. Oh, and if I'm getting a B or higher in CS, I don't have to take the final.

Awesome work, Katya!

Calculus was never my sort of thing...scared me to death. Too much of a humanities person, I guess.

Oh sorry, Computer Science.

Calculus scared me too. I don't know when I started liking it. Sometime in the past month or so.

I took it in college, and dropped it about a month in. I had an A when I dropped it, but it was just giving me such nightmares and scaring me so bad that I couldn't handle the stress.

If I ever had an A in calculus that would probably just be evidence that I was trying too hard and I would hate it too, maybe. I am probably getting a B or C. I don't really understand his grading system; it's not very structured. Probably a B though.

Sis:What, the whole:

Girls=humanities
Boys=maths and sciences

assumption?

Bah. Has nothing to do with that. I just don't like math.

katya:

I'm a bit of an overachiever. Don't like B's. So I always push myself like crazy and sometimes I end up getting freaked out when I can't do as well as I like.

I used to be like that, in elementary and middle school. I'd practically start crying if I got a B (I cry easily..) but somewhere along the line I stopped caring about grades and just studied what I liked and made sure I did at least ok. Then again, high school was super easy compared to college so getting an A didn't really mean much to me. Now I tend to take more pride in getting good grades, but I'm not in the habit of studying a lot. I'm used to just breezing through everything.

No, I would say it more likely reflects women's documented tendancy to sabotage themselves when their success is imminent. It's very difficult to be smarter than one's programming, without a lot of work that few people do.

Nah, I had a cruel, awful teacher sabotage my math skills for me.

Anyway, I'm quite happy with Poli Sci. It's fun.

I had a Chinese teacher for pre-calc. He's super smart, but his accent put me to sleep every day. Also, he was too focused. I pay attention better to teacher that ramble and joke around and get off topic briefly.

Nah, my school tried very hard to slay my love for math, among many things. But I thwarted them. I like it, and am pretty decent at it to.

But for some reason I still like lingusitics and cultural studies more. Meh, either that or become a veterenarian.
