Jesus, it gives us something to do. It's fun, not like there is much else to do, when one doesn't want to get involved in the mindless circular debates or just watch the tumble weed blowing by.

And, Tessar, you are right to a degree. They are built to crumple in order to absorb some of the shock, the only problem is that it all depends on how the car is hit and where. Dan's Lincoln Caprice is a taller vehicle than my Honda Accord, and the nose of my car went under his rear end. My car crumpled like it was supposed to but if we had been going any faster, his rear end would have shaved through the front windshield and done serious damage if not death.

Even these new safety-crumple cars are not as good as solid iron when it comes to being side swiped in passanger or driver's side or t-boned. Eesh, I'm just glad we all got out alive and well. Except for the granny. She should die for being so friggen stupid.
