All right, I've had enough of it. I't been scorching hot here for over four weeks now. I CAN'T STAND WORKING IN THIS STUFF! While other people are working at their computers smiling as they sip their delicious Starbucks cold coffee, I'm stuck in "the woods" (yeah right the woods. More like Misery Lane) on a 45 degree angle sloping hill looking for "property corner markers". To make it worse, the properties we're surveying are near the lake, and therefore it is a Huge Hot Bowl of steam and sweat for six or seven working hours. I bring an extra shirt to change into after the field work, but does this stop the humidity from driving you nuts? No, it does not. By the time I get home the shirt I brought to change into is completely soaked just like my workshirt was. One more week of this stupid heat and I'm going to go beserk!!!

I just said goodbye to one of my good friends until Christmas .

Another is leaving Sunday, and then one next Friday.

Can't you give some of that scorching heat to us here, Hector? It's still supposed to be summer, not autumn, but it's been cold and raining for weeks. Even the heating turned itself on. In August! Bleh.

Please send us some of that rain! Everything is drying out here.. You can get some of this heat in exchange. Ok?

*hands Earniel a packet of heat* Here, put this underneath your pillow and you'll be sleeping on a cloud in the morning

I can't complain. The weather's lovely here. Not too hot, and not too cold.

On the other hand, the skies are too clear.

I agree! Though not right now, I want to jump straight into working some physics job. However, my dad, a laborer (works for Verizon and almost singlehandedly keeps the Coachella Valley up and running) dismisses something like that as impossilbe and unrealistic. It's depressing. I've considered starting out selling stuff on e-bay. I have a lot of things that I don't need, and lot's more that I can buy and then mark their prices up a bit.

Yes.. We haven't had rain during the entire summer, except from some slight nightly rainfall perhaps two times.. During 3 months. *sigh* Trees are dying, and more will die during the spring when there is no water and they don't have any reserves. // ventyventvent

I'm so mad at my best friend... I'm involved in a very difficult project, that I'm having to do single-handedly, with little encouragement or help, but would you believe the girl absolutely refused to help me at all? Apparently, its TOO much responsibility to help me out. A fine best friend she is, I don't think! "I'll always be there when you need me"- bloody stoopid lies... and the worst bit is, if I make the slightest bit of noise about it, she'll think I'm ending our friendship or something like that. Grrrr.... I hate being angry with someone, and having to bottle it up!

Well.... that felt better...

Yup, mostly pine and spruce. Birch and alder are quite common also, but it depends on where in the country you are..

Pfft! Dear Abbey or whoever the one in Los Angeles doesn't offer ice cream to HER readers! You know, anyone can make the LA Times, Hector. I've done it myself. Many times.
