i got really excited when i saw Tourniquet but then i saw Evanescence instead of Marilyn Manson and was sickened
and now for something older: My Monkey from portrait i had a little monkey i sent him to the country and i fed him on gingerbread along came a choo-choo, knocked my monkey coo-coo and now my monkey's dead at least he looks that way, but then again don't we all? (what i make is what i am, i can't be forever) i had a little a monkey i sent him to the country and i fed him on gingerbread along came a choo-choo, knocked my monkey coo-coo and now my monkey's dead poor little monkey "make you...break you...make you...break you...lookout" (what i make is what i am, i can't live forever) we are our own wicked gods with little "g's" and big dicks sadistic and constantly inflicting a slow demise i had a little a monkey and i sent him to the country and i fed him on gingerbread along came a choo-choo, knocked my monkey coo-coo and (k)now my monkey's dead the primate's scream of consonance is a reflection of his own mind's dissonance

*Just Glares at Millane* I have no comment on Marilyn Manson.
FAÇADE from Jekyll &Hyde [Bishop] There's a face that we wear in the cold light of day It's society's mask, It's society's way And the truth is Ha! That it's all a facade There's a face that we hide 'til the nighttime appears And what's hiding inside behind all of our fears Is our true self, locked inside a facade. [Everyone] Everyday People in their own sweet way Like to add a coat of paint, and be what they ain't That's how our little game is played Livin' out a masquerade Actin' a bizzare charade While playin' the saint! [Stride] But there's one thing I know and I know it for sure This disease that we've got has got no ready cure And I'm certain Life is terribly hard! [Everyone] When your life's a facade. Look around you I have found you cannot tell by lookin' at the surface what is lurkin' there beneath it! See that face, now I'm prepared to bet you what you see's not what you get 'cause man's a master of deceit! So what is this sinister secret? The lie he will tell you is true! [Utterson] It's that each man you meet, in the street, isn't one man, but two! [Everyone] Nearly everyone you see like him and her and you and me Pretends to be the pillar of society! A model of propriety! Sobriety! And piety! Who shudders at the thought of noteriety! The ladies and gents here before you, which none of 'em ever admits! May have saintly looks! But they're sinners and crooks! Hypocrites! Hypocrites! There are preachers who kill! There are killers who preach! There are teachers who lie! There are liars who teach! Take your pick, dear! Cause it's all a facade [Danvers] You must seem to be rich and have money to burn. [A poor man] Even though it's a bitch, spending more than you earn! [Utterson and Danvers] That's the game here! [Everyone] And the name is facade! One or two, might look kinda well-to-do. But I betcha precious few have paid for their boots. [Utterson] I'm inclined to think! [Everyone] Half man-kind, think the other half is blind Wouldn't be surprised to find. [All guys who could sing that high!] They're all in cahoots! [Everyone] At the end of the day They don't mean what they say! They don't say what they mean! They don't ever come clean! And the answer, is it's all a facade. Man is not one but two! He is evil and good! And he walks the fine line We'd all cross if we could! It's a nightmare We can never discard (Look) So we stay on our guard (Behind) Though we love the facade (The Fa-cade!) What's behind the facade? Look behind...... The facade.

Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin *spoken*: i'd like to do a song of great social and pollitical import OH, Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz? My friends all drive Porches, I must make amends. Worked hard all my lifetime, No help from my friends. So, oh, Lord, won't you but me A Mercedes Benz? Oh, Lord, won't you buy me A color TV? *i'm not sure about this line, but-* Dialing for Dollars is trying to find me. I wait for delivery Each day until three. So, oh, Lord, won't you buy me A color TV? Oh, Lord, won't you buy me A night on the town? I'm counting on you, Lord, Please don't let me down. Prove that you love me, And buy the next round. Oh, Lord, won't you buy me A night on the town?

Thank you, Insidious! Now, for another song.
One Day by Simple Plan Sometimes this house feels like a prison that I just can't leave behind there's so many rules I got to follow 'cuz you can't let go I don't wanna hear it And I just can't believe it All the stupid things you say but One day I won't take this anymore One day I'll be old enough to do what I want to I won't have to run away And you won't be there to say I'm not allowed to One day Sometimes I wonder if you know me Or if you just pretend to care Tell me are you on a mission to bring me down? Go away Don't look at me 'cuz we're not the same And you can't do nothing You can say That it's not ok But I'm not afraid And you can't do nothing nanana...One day.

Stormfront
By Garnet Rodgers As silent as the voice of God these empty barren hills they hover above the dry plain they shimmer in the distance I feel a sudden chill The ground is dry and cracked like an old mans skin stretched across the plain Lightning flickering across the thunderhead Empty promises of rain Some kind of stormfront on the move tonight Feel the tension in the air Dust devils dance on the side of the highway Leaves and garbage everywhere Mothers call their kids from the door "C'mon get inside, shut the windows, lock them tight" The sun has burned its bridges plunged into the mountains in a sea of steam and poison light I hear thunder bumping boxcars in the valley the wind is laughing up my sleeve the cars have turned their headlights on It's way past time-- I should be gone We've turned our towns into a filthy joke like a theme park built for swine We bulldoze farms, fields turn them into strip malls Nobody seems to mind Who elected these cheap hustlers anyway? This worthless pack of pimps and whores The developers come smiling with their pockets jingling full of change We get down on all fours And I don't want your Black Hills gold Not at any price we built a trail of tears and broken trees through here then swarmed the earth like lice Townhouses, casinos and trailer parks Cheap neon light up the falling night I saw the Four Horsemen ride through here about an hour ago They were sickened at the sight These highway signs are full of bullet holes Burnt rubber cross the road Someone's angry about something somewhere here They're just waiting to unload We're putting bombs in buildings Bombs in letters, bombs in trucks We're drowning kids in the backs of cars We're dressing killers in Armani suits We turn them into TV stars We become a race of leering voyeurs We're big on progress sex and death Something evil is lurking in the darkness here with me and I can smell its stinking breath It's in the blankness of our children's stares It's in a courtroom in a suit It's in the hand that holds gun that made these bullet holes It's a secret pocket filled with loot It's the soft white faces of these soft white men with their soft white grasping hand who laugh and sneer at those who have to stand and wait in line and never got their chance

Already Gone
Eagles Well, I heard some people talkin' just the other day And they said you were gonna put me on a shelf But let me tell you I got some news for you And you'll soon find out it's true And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself Cause I'm aaaalready gone And I'm feeeeeeelin strong I will siiiiiiiiing this vict'ry song Woo hoo hoo! Woo hoo hoo The letter that you wrote me made me stop and wonder why But I guess you felt like you had to set things right Just remember this, my girl, when you look up in the sky You can see the stars and still not see the light (that's right) And I'm aaaaaaalready gone And I'm feeeeeeeeelin strong I will siiiiiiiing this vict'ry song Woo hoo hoo! Woo hoo hoo Well I know it wasn't you who held me down Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains And we never even know we have the key But me, I'm aaaaaalready gone And I'm feeeeeeeelin strong I will siiiiiiing this vict'ry song Cause I'm already gone Yes, I'm aaaaaalready gone! And I'm feeeeeelin' strong I will siiiiiing this vict'ry song Cause I'm already gone Yes, I'm aaaaaaalready gone Aaaaaaalready gone All right. nighty-night

Whiter shade of pale
We skipped the light Fandango Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor I was feeling kind of seasick But the crowd called out for more The room was humming harder As the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink The waiter brought a tray And so it was that later As the Miller told his tale That her face, at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale She said there is no reason And the truth is plain to see But I wandered through my playing cards And would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins Who were leaving for the coast And although my eyes were open They might just as well've been closed And so it was that later As the Miller told his tale That her face, at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale And so it was.... Get Up, Stand Up by Bob Marley
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight! Preacherman, don't tell me, Heaven is under the earth. I know you don't know What life is really worth. It's not all that glitters is gold; 'Alf the story has never been told: So now you see the light, eh! Stand up for your rights. Come on! Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight! Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight! Most people think, Great God will come from the skies, Take away everything And make everybody feel high. But if you know what life is worth, You will look for yours on earth: And now you see the light, You stand up for your rights. Jah! Get up, stand up! (Jah, Jah!) Stand up for your rights! (Oh-hoo!) Get up, stand up! (Get up, stand up!) Don't give up the fight! (Life is your right!) Get up, stand up! (So we can't give up the fight!) Stand up for your rights! (Lord, Lord!) Get up, stand up! (Keep on struggling on!) Don't give up the fight! (Yeah!) We sick an' tired of-a your ism-skism game - Dyin' 'n' goin' to heaven in-a Jesus' name, Lord. We know when we understand: Almighty God is a living man. You can fool some people sometimes, But you can't fool all the people all the time. So now we see the light (What you gonna do?), We gonna stand up for our rights! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!) So you better: Get up, stand up! (In the morning! Git it up!) Stand up for your rights! (Stand up for our rights!) Get up, stand up! Don't give up the fight! (Don't give it up, don't give it up!) Get up, stand up! (Get up, stand up!) Stand up for your rights! (Get up, stand up!) Get up, stand up! (...) Don't give up the fight! (Get up, stand up!) Get up, stand up! (...) Stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up! Don't give up the fight! [fadeout]

Forest of October by Opeth
The memories that now rests in this forest Forever shadowing the sunrise of my heart Wings leave their nest at my coming Swaying away unto the cold glowing sky Dreaming away for a while My spirit sighs in peace Gazing unto the stars Please, take me there I am so alone, so cold My heart is to scarred to glow I wish the sunrise to come Take my soul (away) From this cold, lonely shell I am free From the eternal sea I rose Veiled in darkness on either shore Lost my pride, lost its glow For me the sun rose no more The forest of October Sleeps silent when I depart The web of time Hides my last trace My blaze travel the last universe Like the sights of magic Wrapped in aeons My mind is one with my soul I fall alone While leaves fall from the weeping trees |

You Put a Hex on Me by Mortiis
Dancing round the burning fire
Calling out the names of the dead Chanting all your dark desires As you stick your pins in my head Painted faces all around me Speak of things I don't understand Somebody's blood is on the ground My time is here, it is at hand Why do you use the old juju? Why do you rattle all them bones? I'm telling you I'm not the one for you but still you throw the stones In the middle of a circle Sits the one to fear Maker of all miracles The one I won't go near It's the doctor that is blind but still he'll cast the spell Don't ever look into his evil mind Unless you want to see his hell Why do you use the old juju? Why do you rattle all them bones? I'm telling you I'm not the one for you but still you throw the stones Then you put a hex on me Then you put a hex on me Then you put a hex on me You put a hex on me Wicked laughter fills the air Everyone is laughing at me Can't escape his trancelike stare He wants me to be blind like he Needles, nails and broken glass Incantations from the past I'm just a toy in this unholy mask Not the first nor will I be the last Why do you use the old juju? Why do you rattle all them bones? I'm telling you I'm not the one for you but still you throw the stones Then you put a hex on me Then you put a hex on me Then you put a hex on me You put a hex on me |

band: Pain of Salvation
song: Ropes End She is still young... Another day of emptiness This life is wearing her down The room around her is a mess Her children safe with her mom She is still young but feeling old Two children with different fathers She sits on the bathroom floor alone The shower chain broke Her neck hurts Then another night of emptiness to wear her down Naked to the world she wraps her sadness in a gown Her children fast asleep she sears the dark with glassy eyes Choosing carefully among her husband's business ties "Over!" she cries through rope ends and silk ties Beautiful life escaping her young blue eyes But life holds her hand, refusing to let go Leaving her breathing on the floor They're still asleep don't hear her cry And she's still obsessed with rope ends This time she picks a stronger tie With Winnie the Pooh and friends She is still young but feeling old A child dying to be a mother Now she hangs from the ceiling all alone All pressure is falling from her Seeing guilt has taught her guilt she's raised on disbelief Merely twenty beautiful but with a taste for grief She has learnt all that there is to know about hopelessness Seeing that no effort in this world can stand her test "Over!" she cries through rope ends and silk ties Beautiful life escaping her young blue eyes And Winnie is strong, would never let her fall Prevents her from breathing till she's not there at all But life holds her hands, refusing to let go Leaving her breathing on the floor Seeing guilt has taught her guilt she's raised on disbelief Merely twenty beautiful but with a taste for grief She has learnt all that there is to know about helplessness Seeing that no caring in this world can ease her stress Helpless she lies in rope ends and undies Unseeing eyes fixating Eeyore's smile "Over!" she cries as she's going unblind Still in this life Still in this troubled mind The ceiling let go, the old house let her fall Dropping her breathing to the hard cold floor Hitting her head - a broken china soul Red stains on porcelain and she's not there at all Breathing she cries for rope ends and silk ties Beautiful eyes Piglet stands shy behind Broken she lies undead and unblind Beautiful life Beautiful crying young eyes Blackened and bruised, learning how to see Staring at her tooth - crimsoned ivory Hours they pass this broken china soul Red stains on porcelain And she's not there at all... |

i love this song; my favorite line in almost any song is "i'd trade all my tomorrows/for a single yesterday" from this song
Me and Bobby McGee Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waiting for a train And I's feelin' nearly as faded as my jeans. Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained, It rode us all the way to New Orleans. I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana, I was playin' soft while Bobby sang the blues. Windshield wipers slappin' time, I was holdin' Bobby's hand in mine, We sang every song that driver knew. Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose. Nothin' don't mean nothin, honey, if it ain't free, now now. And feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues. You know feelin' good was good enough for me; Good enough for and my Bobby McGee. From the Kentucky coal mines to the California sun, Hey, Bobby shared the secrets of my soul. Through all kinds of weather, through everything that we done, Hey, Bobby baby kept me from the cold. One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away, He's lookin' for that home and I hope he finds it. But I'd trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday, To be holding Bobby's body next to mine. Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose. Nothin', and that's all that Bobby left me, yeah. But feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues, Hye, feelin' good was good enough for me, hmm hmm, Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee......

"Big Enough", by Chris Rice
None of us knows, and this makes it a mystery; If life is a comedy, then why all the tragedy? Three and a half pounds of brain try to figure out What this world is all about; And is there an eternity? Is there an eternity? chorus God if You're there, I wish You'd show me, And God if You care, then I need you to know me. I hope You don't mind me asking the questions, But I figure You're big enough; I figure You're big enough. Lying on pillows we're haunted and half-awake Does anyone hear us pray "If I die before I wake"? Then the morning comes, and the mirror's another place Where we wrestle face-to-face With the image of deity; The image of deity. (repeat chorus) When I imagine the size of the universe And I wonder what's out past the edges, Then I discover inside me a space as big, And believe that I'm meant to be filled up With more than just questions. (repeat chorus)

Here's another by Chris Rice, with Ran and Ricky Jackson. It's subtitled "a conversation with the stars" - the bits in parenthesis are the words sung by the stars. It's based on the Bible verse that talks about how during creation, the "morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy".
"Wonder", by Chris Rice and Ran and Ricky Jackson I could stand here looking at you for a thousand years And if I could I'd fly to the heavens and meet you there But this gravity keeps holding me down. So I'll just keep watching you slide through the summer sky It makes me smile while you mingle your lights with the fireflies And I don't want to stop this spinning around. chorus 1 Hey, I'm getting dizzy now I'm falling to the ground Hey, I'm getting teary-eyed My mouth is open wide in wonder, in wonder. Shall we dance, from opposite sides of the universe? And we'll shine the Glory behind all our spins and turns As we orbit our way through the sky Is it true you sang with the angels when earth was made? And now I sing along with your song while The Music plays And the harmony is building Cause the chorus can't be too far away ... chorus 2 Hey, I'm getting dizzy now (Hey you, looking at me) I'm falling to the ground (Tell me what do you see from down there?) Hey, I'm getting teary-eyed (Hey, if you could) My mouth is open wide (tell me how do we look from down there?) in wonder, in wonder. (Hey you, looking at me) (Tell me what do you see from down there?) (Hey, if you could) (tell me how do we look from down there? [repeat chorus 2] But this gravity keeps holding me down ...

Dire Straights: Brothers in arms
these mist covered mountains Are a home now for me But my home is the lowlands And always will be Some day you'll return to Your valleys and your farms And you'll no longer burn To be brothers in arms Through these fields of destruction Baptisms of fire I've witnessed your suffering As the battles raged higher And though they did hurt me so bad In the fear and alarm You did not desert me My brothers in arms There's so many different worlds So many different suns And we have just one world But we live in different ones Now the sun's gone to hell And the moon's riding high Let me bid you farewell Every man has to die But it's written in the starlight And every line on your palm We're fools to make war On our brothers in arms |

Used to be my favorite song.
The Curse Of Feanor Taken the long way Dark realms I went through I arrived My vision's so clear In anger and pain I left deep wounds behind But I arrived Truth might be changed by victory Beyond the void but deep within me A swamp of filth exists A lake it was of crystal beauty But Arda's spring went by I've heard the warning Well curse my name I'll keep on laughing No regret No regret Don't fear the eyes of the dark lord Morgoth I cried All hope is gone but I swear revenge Hear my oath I will take part in your damned fate I will always remember their cries Like a shadow which covers the light I will always remember the time But it's past I cannot turn back the time (I) don't look back There's still smoke near the shore But I arrived Revenge be mine I will take part in your damned fate Morgoth I cried It's my oath So don't fear the eyes Of the dark lord Soon you will be free Set your spirit free "Suddenly I realized The prophecies I've never believed in My deeds were wrong I've stained the land And slain my kin (Burning Soul) There's no release from my sins It hurts The Curse of Fëanor runs long Time and only time will tell us Tell: was I right or wrong? When anger breaks through I'll leave mercy behind" I will always remember their cries Like a shadow they'll cover my life But I'll also remember mine (And) after all I'm still alive
