Amazing how they tend to amass there isn't it? Since a few months my Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales haven't even left the computer room anymore, together with my two english dictionaries.

If you're obsessed with Tolkien and his works, his books will start to form piles in your home.

If you're also a 'mooter you will find those piles next to your computer.

If I were to say that, the Atani children would understand me even less than they do now.

Yeah, that's true.. my piles of books have shifted from various places even today. First, they were in my room (where they should be), then to my living room when I was showing my dad my fave books (Silm followed by LotR). Then, they got scattered when I was reciting poetry from the books and teaching my family Mellon! and Mae govannen! (My dad can speak it very well now )

Today, I have worked out that my father is an Elf and my mother is Numenorean. (My dad is very good at Elvish, my mum too scared of LotR-ness to be an elf- she specifically stated that she is human) She is scared of LotR because of how it has taken over my life. Too bad that I can't be a hobbit, it would just be too strange a combination.

I am also teaching my sister some poetry. Now she knows the first 2 lines of 'Three rings for the Elven kings under the sky..'

lol...same here. I saw a woman at the store who had pointy ears like an elf. I noticed them right when I saw her...because they weren't just a little pointy...they were so pointy they looked fake! I almost got to the point to ask her if they were real.

OMG! That's exactly what my mum said! (Elvis) *shudders*

Some more ways:
-you forget the names for things in this world, and accidently replace them with words from LotR. When I was trying to tell my cousin about this ride called the Tower of Terror, I completely forgot the name and had to pause for a couple of seconds to recall what it was. (All I could think of was the Two Towers)
I even forgot my real name and accidently said Linaewen instead, once.
-You subconciously begin reciting Tolkien poetry (And apparrently walk around muttering things about Elves and evil)

You start taking notes in shorthand by referring to LotR. Example:
~ The Muslims were victorious over the Hindus because Hindu leaders would often fight among themselves= orcish Hindu leaders
~ The Hindus also had unwise battle tactics. They uses elephants as weapons, but they were easily frightened and the killed numerous Hindus as well as Muslims= Hindu oliphaunts were bad

But hey, it works. I passed the test.

Today I was singing "Earendil was a mariner..." very quietly under my breath in Spanish. I got to a part I knew well, so I stopped thinking about singing and did my work. Suddenly I realized I was singing REALLY LOUD and the whole class was looking at me. Then I tried to sing too high and my voice gave this SQUEAK and the whole class burst out laughing.

Where'd you learn it?

I often sing the first two stanzas of "Snow-white! Snow-white!
" according to the Tolkien Ensemble at work.

lol. Do your parents get annoyed and tired of lotr with you too? My parents make bets with me to see if I won't mention or read anything that has to do with lotr. I always lose.

LOL, that was funny!

When you buy flip flops and hairy stuff to atach to it, and then go to the theater with hairy feet. (You get so many weird looks when you do that! Or maybe it was the pointy ears?)
