We usually send them back and forth as word docs attached to e-mails. One of us starts, and then we alternate turns editing (noting what we change/why if it's to the other person's section) and adding sections until we reach a good stopping point.
Would you like to start? I'm pretty sure we still have each other's e-mail addresses.

So, RÃ*an, Willow, you both have a piece of my writing to work on, any progress?

Posted the reply of the four Elves to Rameldir. RÃ*an, I side-stepped the naming-problem, but if there is anything else, feel free to edit it in yourself.

I guess I should write a draft and send to Willow again even though her character isn't in the same area as mine ...
Who is writing who of the five Gondoliniers? Perhaps I should send you that draft instead? When it gets written, that is ...

No need to rush. Dignified hurrying is more than enough.
RÃ*an has the characters Tyaron, Alagos and Alariel. I have Hallindel, and Halweg who is currently with Willow's characters. I've written most recent posts for our group of five, since RÃ*an's injuries and troubles have kept her from engaging fully in the RPG writing. But I usually sent the final thing over for approval and changes before it gets posted. So you can always send your draft to me and we can bounce it back and forth till we're happy and then either of us can send the finished part to RÃ*an so she can edit her characters' action and speech to her liking, before anyone of us can post the thing. |

I've almost got Glor, Halweg and co. to the point where they were supposed to meet up with the rest of the characters - at which point I was going to send it back to Earn for a final look over before we post it.
I'm a bit stuck though because of the differences in the time it took Glor to find Halweg vs. Rameldir finding the other four. It's dark by the time I have our group returning, and I need to know whether to have everyone waiting for them or gone on ahead to Imladris proper, since I think it will have taken the group with Rameldir much less time to get back. Thoughts?

In the story they made an agreement:
Quote:
Somehow, the latter solution makes most sense to me - the newcomers should be taken to their goal right away, not left around in the forest for even longer. Although waiting there to have their group reunited would make some sense, too. And even if Rameldir & Co get to Rivendell first, it needn't be described first in the story - but I agree that we need to decide how things happen.

I feel it would be highly out of character for any of them to keep guests waiting outside the valley past dark, so let's say they go ahead.
Just let me know who you plan to leave waiting for us slowpokes!

If the visitors' replies as to why they were there satisfied Rameldir. (i.o.w. if he has established they're no threat to Rivendell but harmless visitors) I assume he would take them to Rivendell right away. Judging from the earlier reports of how far off Halweg got to, Rameldir could deduce it would take a good while for Glorfindel and his companion to find the strayed Elf and return with him to the meeting point and that they would be waiting for them past dark. Leaving someone there while the he takes the visitors to Rivendell sounds like a good plan. I'm fine with it. I have no problems with Halweg arriving much later then the others.

Good, we all agree that the visitors should be allowed to get to Rivendell with all speed, then
I'll leave Haledhel to wait for the late arrivals, Willow - Ainon goes to Rivendell with Rameldir and Kemmótar and their new guests. Haledhel should go back to Thôndir when he has directed Glorfindel & Co to go to Rivendell (unless they are being replaced by the night shift by then). Who should I share my post draft with when it's ready? Eärniel, perhaps?

All right, our three are in the valley! It was getting fairly long, and there weren't any changes I made to your last bit, Earn, so I went ahead and just posted the thing. Let me know if anything in the final section needs changing after all. I leave Halweg's reaction to you.

Now I REALLY should get my act together and get Rameldir with his guests to Rivendell before the others arrive
Good that I had been able to contribute some facts about who waits where, at least Sorry about the delay! I've been inspired by Willow now (and got some suggestions from her text on how to handle some things), so hopefully Eärniel should get something in a few days ...
