Sorry I wasn't one yesterday, I was still recovering from Paul's funeral. Standing room only. Great to know he had tons of friends before he passed.

Parenting.
But, on funerals: At my volunteer job there was a great old guy that put in a ton of hours every year. Most of the volunteers are retirees anyway. One day at the end of the season he said so long to everyone. See you next year. Season's over. Time to go home. The next day he had a heart attack and died in bed. It felt so simple, how he had said goodbye to everyone and the next day he was dead. Everyone from our organization was at his funeral. It was really wonderful. Now there is a tree at our organization deticated to this guy and how much we enjoyed his company. Now, onto NEW LIFE. I like kids. I wanna have some. I want to adopt a little african girl and give her the whitest name possible! |

I distinctly remember you being a school librarian when I first met you. Now I have to doublethink this incorrect notion (even if it was correct) away. On a related note: Sane, just doublethink the eye thing away. Refuse to accept that there is anything wrong with your eye. I'll use Dr. Zaius for an example: Dr. Zaius: Gah! A human! I see we've already disected your eye. Sane: What do you mean? Dr. Z.: You're eye is patched up. Sane: *feels face* No it isn't. Dr. Z.: Yes it is! I can see it! Sane: No, you can't. Dr. Z.: *walks away furious* Sane: *forgets conversation, then forgets forgetting*

No, use this method:
#1: I see your eye is missing. Sane: Which one? #1: The uhh.... Sane: Which hand do you write with? #1: Uhh...this one. Sane: Thats your right. #1: Yeah, ok. Sane: Now, Face the same way I face, and see if your hand is on the same side as my missing eye. If it's not, it means my left eye is gone... #1: You're weird...

I mostly worked military air traffic control radar stuff, so I knew what they were doing in the cockpit on 9/11 with the transponder, and knew it couldn't be stopped I remember being so frustrated, knowing they'd turn the transponder off and what it would look like on an ATC screen ... heck, we used to simulate hijacks to exercise the programs. edit to add: 52 hits for radar. 9 for librarian, mostly in the Wraiths rpg where my character was talking to a librarian. I don't know where you got that idea  Is anyone else here a librarian? edit 2 : hey, the last 4 letters of "librarian" are "rian"! Maybe that's it!

Your neurons are misfiring, then - give it a search, like I said.

I did a search and found Khamul's mom is a librarian, and someone named Jadera wanted to study library science, but that's it. Is it another board, maybe?

(ps - you should consider the field, TB! It's very interesting. My dad was in airborne, and I was in shipboard/landbased. Those 10 years were great years - I was lucky enough to be in research, and we had one of the first plasma displays in the country at the time - great stuff for out-in-the-field transportable military ATC systems, much better than CRTs - the MTBF (mean time between failure) is really high with plasmas. I think it was 10,000 hrs or something like that. And now they're all over the stores!)

It's okay, TB, simmer down.... *hands him a cuppa* No, no one remembers Ri being a librarian, school, or otherwise. Just sip this and relax.

Sorry, Ri. I'm already quite sure what I want to do. Unless that can be pracitcally applied to high energy particle experiments... It does, however, sound very much like something that would interest my friend Alden. If you ever see anyone named SkaterFrodo, tell him all about it, and be sure to say that Brendan said to.

Hahah, thanks Hector and TB! Hector! I swear, you read minds! I actually did that to a guy. Not a terribly bright guy, but none the less! I'm starting to have fun with this one eyed business. Still sucks when I walk into things or trip, but I'm starting to develope a sort of radar, its like a spider sense. I have been able to check myself from walking into/tripping on things five times so far due to this developing sense.
Rock on, now to go see maggie and maybe see if I can still ride a horse with this.
