I was confused at first, too, then the answer just popped into my head, because I always got kind of a funny picture in my head at that part (angry dwarves with smoking beards) ok - keeping to the same point in time, which of the dwarves in Thorin & co. was also a companion of Thorin at the time that Smaug showed up (and was thus also saved from being burn to a crisp)?

I think it's some type of throwing/aiming game, because I have a vague memory of quoits being mentioned where it said Bilbo was good at throwing-type things. Hmm, have to look it up...

OK - I was right about the throwing/aiming - a game kind of like horseshoes where players throw rings at a peg.
Interestingly, my dictionary says the peg is called either a "hob" or a "tee" - kind of like "hobbit", hey? OK - on what 3 items did Thorin & co. dine on in the eagles' eyries?
