i guess my definition of intelligence does run a little close to the definition of knowledge...
i would agree with BoP on wisdom. Rian, what were your thoughts on modern satanism? are they close to GW's?

I'm sorry, I have to sign off now - darn phone calls!! - it's too late now, and I have a big day tomorrow (field trip with one of the kids - ack!) I was enjoying this chat, too - it's always fun when everyone involved is online and you get responses w/in a few minutes. I probably agree with what GW said, but I'll look it over tomorrow.
Goodnight, all! (or Good morning, or whatever applies to your time zone.) Isn't it funny to think that the sun is shining on BoP (and I think Millane - aren't you from Australia?) and the stars are shining on me? *note to self - knowledge often an indicator of intelligence....review GW posts.....gallon of milk......*

My gosh, I can't believe this, but...I've forgotten the name of the language spoken in Israel! Is it Hebrew? Jewish?

Does anyone hear celebrate Palm (Passion) Sunday? If so what special things does your church do for it?

Thanks, RtB.
Arien, I don't know if we do. We haven't been in this church long.

My church does a Passion Play. For the last two years they've cast me as the "Holy Spirit" because they want me to dance and that's the only role that really gets to dance. Eh, well. Right now, I'm kinda worried, because I'm going to end up improvising again, and my improvisational skills are rather rusty.

You're church? I thought you were Wiccan?

Sorta both. I've found that many of the Wiccan practices are really just variations on what Christians do, plus it gives me more holidays to celebrate. Unlike many Wiccans I've met, I really have no problem with Christianity.

Um...but how does that work? What with the First Commandment and similar things?

This is a semi-recent development, though. There was a period where I was fervently anti-Christian. I'm glad that's over and done with...

Eh, true...I tend to see other gods as aspects of God, and the Goddess as...I haven't quite figured that out yet. I'm working on it, I'm working on it...

So, then, does that mean you think the First Commandment is invalid? Note: I realise this may sound kinda rude, but it's not meant to be in the least.

No. I'm trying to work around it, which may sound sort of non-Christian or something, but I like Wicca and I like Christianity, and I'm trying to figure out how to integrate them both into my life.

I suppose I can identify a bit. I mean, I am quite fond of both Catholicism and Judaism. I don't believe in either, but I find them fascinating. So, I like Fiddler on the Roof, the Hebrew language (thanks Radagast!), and I am fascinated by study of Judaism. As for Catholic, I like Catholics rites (confession, mass, exorcism) a whole lot, and love stuff with Catholic priests. Though I don't think I'd try to fit them together.
If I may ask, what is it you like about the two religions? And I am really curious as to how the God and the Goddess don't qualify as "other gods". Again, I am not trying to sound disrespectful in the least, but am very interested.

GW, I must say that Judaism is NOT interesting. There are many other intersting things, but this is not one of them! I think that the jewish orthodoxes are hilarious... They tried once to ruin my car for driving in Satueday. And, of course, they are corrupted, especially in the goverment. All of them, ten people from ten in the parlament, are corrupted. |

I consider it to be a fascinating faith, but each to his own.

I think Judaism is interesting. The religious MKs, as Radagast said, are pretty corrupt. Rather ironic actually.
