I dont think there is anything wrong with giving your kids ME names. But I think if you do, you should make it a name that isnt too "out there". (ie Tar-Alcalime) What a name!

Why didn't I notice this thread earlier. I'd love to give my children ME-names. Lalaith (Nienor, Niniel) would be cool. But I'm searching for a cool name for a boy.

I thought about calling them Nenya, Narya and Vilya as nicknames. As babies.

how about
aire--"holy" aiwe--"small bird" Amarie--feminine name derived from mara, good Amaurea--"dawn", poetic word Ancalima, "Most bright" or Calima, "bright" Anna--"gift" Aranel--"princess" Arien--fem. name, from Aure, "sunlight" Caita--"lie" as in "out of a grey land darkness lies" Ca'le--"light" Celume--"stream" Cira--"sail" Coirea--"living" okay, I'm not going through the whole alphabet, but there's some of the coolest names for A-C, this is from a dictionary/glossary: http://www.uib.no/People/hnohf/quenya.htm have fun!

If I have a daughter, I want to name her Arien Maia. I also like the name Yavanna...it's close enough to Yvonne that I don't think many people would notice.

Arien Maia? Nice sounding name. I might have to steal that idea...

I know that if I have a child, their name is going to start with the same letter as mine. And if I have more than one kid, their names are going to sound alike.
I don't know if I'm digging a hole for myself if I name my kids alike, or what. I still like the sound of "Henry, son of Hazel!" or "Hannah, daughter of Hazel!" Or whatnot. |
