A river? Does it mean 'coldness' or 'cold one' or something with cold?

Yes, it's a river. But it has nothing to do with 'cold'.

The river Celon, meaning river (I think).

correct. your go, Fal!

actually, I have to admit that there's a chance that this answer could only be found in the index, not in the text itself. Please forgive me.
it means 'river' and 'stream flowing down from the heights'

Don't worry 'bout it, all that matters is that it's in there somewhere.

Ok, so:

What was the name of the first steward? Forgive me if this's already been asked, but it's late and I can't come up with anything better...leaving early tomorrow, by the way, so may not be here to confirm the answer.

But do you mean first steward at all, or first ruling steward?
I know Mardil is the first of the ruling stewards. (I think?)

He said he'll be away... Care if I ask a question?

What was the name of Tol Sirion after Sauron conquered it?

I'm not very good with the Sil. names, so please don't laugh: is it Gurthang?

Of course I'm not going to laugh. But Gurthang is Sauron himself, unfortunately.
