Cyrell padded alongside Merry. He had accepted all the strange events of the day much more calmly than Primrose had, but even he was a bit confused. Oh well. Cyrell hoped that this Will would be a real four-legger. Merry was great, but he was really a two-legger at heart, and there would be some things he would never understand.

Cyrell nodded, a gesture he had picked up from Primrose. I don't understand why two-leggers so often feel the need to lie, or withhold information when it's asked for by a friend. None of Cyrell's companions knew all there was to know about him, either, of course. He was pretty sure, in fact, that there were some things about him Merry or Primrose might like to know, if either of them knew to ask him about it. And if either of them asked, he would tell them ... but as it was, the few things that might surprise his companions had never come up.

Cyrell smiled inwardly. So, there was another creature here descended from a four-legger who had had something to do with Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin. Not that Cyrell's own anscestor's role had been anything but extremely minute; still, he was THERE.
