I don't know if I actually do like feeling this way or not. It's a reaction to how people seem to look at me. Some people look at me like I'm a disease-carrying demon, and that pretty much cripples whatever day I could have had. I don't know if it's just that they're bitter themselves, or if I look different to other people than I think I do. I mean, I look relatively normal - nothing too different. I have pretty much average hair for someone living around here. I look younger than my age, and according to my wife and her sister, they say I look great. But I get the feeling that everyone else just sort of wants to kill me half the time. Either that or half of everyone wants to kill me all the time. I'm not sure which.

Thanks for stating the possibility that people might actually have at least some amount of respect for me here. But in my mind, I haven't earned any respect. But, that's coupled with the fact that my mind isn't exactly in the right place - sort of backwards, left-side-right, and upside-down.

I understand that it's very difficult, but try to remember that a lot of us do like you and want to see you posting here... so don't let an idea that we don't want you around stop you, because it's not true.

My mind is pretty bad some days. My wife puts up with this kind of thing from me once every couple of months or so. No matter what I do, it eventually lurks up on me, the feeling of paranoia and the feeling of false guilt. I see something disturbing on TV, and sometimes I apply the guilt of the world to myself. I know, sounds crazy, that's because it is.

I actually ordered two books, because they were extremely inexpensive, to hopefully help out with the learning process.

One is "T'ai Chi Ch'uan for Health and Self-Defense: Philosophy and Practice" which sounds like it's basically a bunch of essays on this one guy's life and practice of Tai Chi (which should be really interesting to read).

The other is "Tai Chi Chuan: 24 & 48 Postures with Martial Applications" which are basically the forms that we'll eventually be learning. It's not to teach myself with, but it should be a good memory jogger for the days when I don't have a teacher around to go, "Yeah... that part you thought you remembered? I have no idea what you're doing, but that's not what I showed you."

Hiya Ingwe! *waves* Nice to see you again. Did I tell you that my internship mentor told me that my face is monotone? In the sense that it is very hard to read my emotions correctly. I and many people I know have been asked quite often whether they are angry or not and then we have to answer 'no I was just thinking.' or 'no, that's my natural face.'
So yeah, most of the times you are probably just reading emotions on people's faces that just aren't there.

It's true, kat, folks often give different impressions than they mean to. I had a very dear friend in my undergrad who had a grouchy and suspicious look on his face about forty percent of the time, and of course he was only actually grouchy and suspicious about ten percent of that.

It's almost funny how one realises one hasn't been home before nine all week. Where did all this work come from, all of a sudden? Sadly, it looks like I'm going to be busy until next week. Working today, cleaning the whole house tomorrow, more work on Saturday, bloody elections on Sunday (and on top of that I may have to man the voting booth all day as well, bleh).
