You don't need physical proof to make something true....say, God?

Could you clarify how that is what you said, Curubethion? Because what I've been getting from your posts is a position that evolution is not scientifically sound, which is not what I'm getting from Linaewen. If I'm misinterpreting either of you, please let me know.

I think he did misconstrue what I said...though I initially thought he was joking and using what I said to prove HIS point.

Because they are both existing species. They could change into something LIKE a dog. But not a dog.

I'm not aware of any restriction on evolution that would not allow cats to evolve into dogs. Can you cite something?
If it's advantageous for cats to start changing, and they start changing, does "Evolution" check the changes against any existing species and only allow the changes if it makes a completely new species? I wouldn't think so. Seriously, I don't see how you can support that claim ![]()

And we're supposed to read all of that?

First, a small detour into technicalities. There will never be proof of something that happened before humans were around to observe it, because we don't have written records and anything else can be questioned. So yes, there is conjecture. The point is that it is scientific conjecture (with fossil evidence, skeletal evidence, and logic to back it up).
http://www.don-lindsay-archive.org/creation/dogcat.html There is no actual reason a cat CAN'T turn into a dog. I just simplify the statement (from the link) that "It would take a stupendously unlikely set of mutations to recreate that exact genetic information" into "cats don't turn into dogs." That is, if you're waiting for a cat to turn into a dog, don't hold your breath, and don't make me show you a cat turning into a dog in order to prove evolution.

Well, we must never presume that our members can or do read.

Don't we assume they've read the Entmoot Rules? Does that not in turn imply an ability to read?

What mystifies me is how evolutionists are more than happy to accept the "stupendously unlikely set of mutations" that it is absolutely necessary to have had happened to get from particle to all the wonderful diversity we see around us today, and yet can say with such certainly that cats don't turn into dogs because it would take a "stupendously unlikely set of mutations" to do this! And on a more serious note, I rather resent the superior attitude that many evolutionists take when they say with mock-horror that people did NOT descend from apes; they descended from ape-like creatures. I mean, what's the difference, in terms of probability? Nothing. BOTH would take a "stupendously unlikely set of mutations". It just seems like an affectation to me.
