Hehe, was still debating whether to put it here or in the study thread because nothing is final or anything, I was just reading through it and I became all "this is it!"
Anyway: its a propedeutical study of 1 year (here BA's are split in a first year which is called the propedeutical year and the remaining 2 or 3 years) with elements of psychology, pedagogy, communication and philosophy. Halfway through the year you have to decide which field you want to continue in: teaching, human resource management, psychology, social work 1 or social work 2. So far I've been looking at social work 1 and 2, HRM, psychology and church related social work, but I had difficulty choosing. This combines everything, let's you see a bit of all these studies and help you make a better choice with a solid foundation and without a studydelay. Perfect for a generalist like me who likes almost everything and wants to study almost everything. I'm so relieved I finally found something that I think will really help me. *is almost crying from relief* ![]() It will involve a lot of work though, because it is not a normal propedeutical study... Oh well, I can work if I'm properly motivated. ![]()

Sounds like a good solution. Education is never wasted.

Education is only wasted if it's not a Liberal Arts education. OOOOOOOO. Yes, that's right. I went there.
![]() (*is only kidding and has much, much love and respect for the people who do non artsy stuff*) I had a super great day. It started out stressful since I got 4 hours of sleep due to needing to plan and then go get the supplies for a fund raiser (the person in charge got sick at the last minute and, it turns out, had nothing actually planned yet!!!). Then people weren't showing up to help me like they'd promised, but eventually people did start showing up and it went well. Then I totally nailed a piece my sight singing teacher handed me in class. I mean, I nailed it. TO THE WALL. I missed one note, but hit the one after it correctly and that put me back on pitch. The teacher said that my sight reading has improved a ton since last semester. Then I got to talk to one of my most favoritist people evaaaaaaaaar all during lunch. I love her to little tiny bits ^_^. Then I sang my solo for the director and that went super well, so I think it'll happen without any problem at the concert this Thursday. THEN I GOT TO GO HOME AND IT WAS ONLY 5 P.M. o.O How exciting was that? For realz. No concert to attend, no meetings, no lessons to observe... lately I've been out till 9 or later every night trying to get my concert attendance done, do interviews, etc.... but not tonight! ![]() So then I napped. And now I'm gonna go to bed. Yay ^_^. |

Having had both, all I can say is, both are interesting and fun in their own ways. I couldn't live without some degree of science & **** though.

This has been a marvellous day. I've missed that insane grin on my face..
I met Antti today, for the first time in 17 months: and was it nice. It was a long break: if the lenght was necessary, I don't know, but I know it was good that we met now. It just made me glad. And when I came home I got more good news: the world isn't always horribly unfair. This week (monday to wednesday) the annual Spring Symposium has taken place, a symposium where the PhD:s in the department (ecology&evolutionary biology) present their work and get feed-back from everyone else and three evaluators from outside the university. At the end of the symposium the evaluators choose who gave the best talk, and the winner gets a travel grant so they can go almost anywhere in the world for a conference (it's a lot of money). And the right person won! When I told Gunther that he should win, he told me he wouldn't: "A matter of principle - as Thomas Mann says, genius is demonic and as such involves the sacrifice of the earthly". Well, this time the genius won - because that is probably what he is. He's unbelievably intelligent, probably the most intelligent person I know - and I know a few of those. But he won! Wonderful.. ![]() And to end the great day, I watched the 4th episode of Attenborough's Life in Cold Blood, the episode about snakes.. Wow. Life sure is good at times..

Heheh.
![]() Stunning series. Not just the subject, but the way the footage was shot too... No one can beat the camera techniques of the BBC natural history unit, if you ask me. I'm gonna see the last episode in a few minutes, I feel already bubbly and happy inside. ![]()

Yeah, I agree.. They've always been on the front line with the Life-series. Amazing stuff.

I remembered how to draw! And I'm older, which seems somehow to make me automatically better at it than I was before. My brain works better in general.

"Making love in a suit of armour, is not easy."
- Sir David Attenborough in the last episode of the Life in Cold Blood series. Marvellous episode, once again - and what a great ending. What a great person.

I had to admit, there is no better ending imaginable to Life in Cold Blood than a visit to Lonesome George. One icon next to another. ![]() EDIT: Dare we make a thread to discuss our favourite parts of the series? I'm rather tempted. ![]()

Through a friend on Facebook I got to see pictures of a bride (the bride being my friends friend) and when looking a bit closer at the groom, I suddenly discovered that he someone I used to go to church with in Japan! What are the odds? They got married in Thailand. Such beautiful pics. These little coincidences make me very happy.
![]() Now where did I leave his address again...? *scurries off to find the address to send a card*

I Muvrini concert! Woohoo! The curtain drops and suddenly they've got about 200 choir members with them. Nice!
Although it is kind of tough if the next day is a working day... Zzzzzz.... Then we shall remedy this temptation! ![]()
