Thanks! You're going to laugh, but I took the pictures on my phone and then used the Adobe Photoshop App to enhance the color. It literally took the swish of a finger.

*grin* thanks! glad you enjoy them - it was a lot of fun to take them. we go to the studio a couple of times a year, and the first time it was fun just to take regular portraits with nice lighting, but after a while, that gets extremely boring.. no matter how pretty the models are :P so lately i've tried being a bit more creative (although i also had to take pictures of a baby, and the parents didn't want anything too creative there).

V. cool indeed

While I also like to enhance colours and alter contrasts and brightness, I usually go an unnecessarily long way to do so

(GW - hope you didn't take offense at my wee jokey wokey)

I think you have a flair for portraiture, Nerdy. Either that or everyone goes all mean and moody when you point a camera at them. I think that one of your fambly is brilliant.

Instead of "Say cheese" do you go "Life is futile?"

*grin* i like your observation, although i'm not sure why all my portraits are like that. maybe i get photos of smiling people, but i prefer the moody ones. :P no, maybe it's more that i ask my models in the studio to do weird things (which makes them look moody) or that my presence just makes people realize that life IS futile.

Well, whatever it is, it gets good results. I love the cat - totally in the moment - in contrast with your bloke - miles away.

thanks a lot - and again, a great observation. it's seldom that people who comment on my photos point something out that i didn't notice myself.

i spotted the northern star and thought i'd try to take a long exposure shot, maybe get some star trails.. there are some, and the other light made me not so interested in taking a really long exposure shot. so i'm not sure about this one, but the light pollution sure brings out pretty colours in the sky! not too many stars, though..

Nerd, I know nothing about the effects you just described, but when I look at that picture, all I can saw is wow. Amazing. Beautiful. Whimsical.

Nice work.

Wonderful; I love the way the trees seem to be circling around and embracing the sky. The motion trails (as I assume the fuzziness is!) on some of them makes it almost like a dance.

Yeah, I love this picture, for those exact reasons. It is a probabilistic dance. Like how the more detailed you get, the more blurred they are.

i finally managed to get a decent photo through our 20*80 binoculars - it's not very easy to align the camera and the binos, but it's super-easy compared to managing to focus well.. X) but it was fun!

we (me and sedeer) are going to put up our photos in the international book shop downtown (a used book store), give a little talk about our photography and even have some books for sale. we finally managed to finish the book, and you can get a glimpse of it here.

(that's sedeer's blurb page: mine is here, but the new book isn't on there.)

it's a risk we're taking with the book, since we don't actually know if anyone will buy it - we ordered 10 copies of it, and if it actually sells, we'll order more. otherwise, we lost a couple of hundred euros. it's 80 pages, so there are quite a few photos. unfortunately, the preview is only 15 pages, and only shows the landscapes - later on, there are lots and lots of macros and monkeys and apes and stuff. i'm quite happy with it.

EDIT: the book has a full preview now, so you can see all the photos in it..

Interesting Nerdanel! Love your pics as usual, though I'm not a big fan of the ones with the models under sheets or whatever the stuff is. It's a bit creepy.
The book looks gorgeous. I wish I had to money
