Mari is in the same country as me! Yay!

In other news, snow is pretty. We had quite a bit on Friday and the kids at school were delighted.

*hugs for Ingwe*

it's as if I need to think I'm a demon from hell, or else I just don't feel right.

This. I know exactly how this feels - unfortunately, it's very difficult to start feeling better when you don't think you deserve to. Here's an idea - do a few nice things for someone. I'm sure you do this already, but here's the difference - be aware that you're doing something for someone else, some small act of kindness. No hell-demon is going to do that, so you're proving yourself wrong in a very obvious fashion, and proof is easier to come to terms with than fuzzy notions of self-belief, right? Prove to yourself that you're not evil.

I hope the eurostar isn't going to cause you any delays. I hear they're not handling the snow particularly well at the moment.

ENTMOOTIA CITY INQUIRER:

The traditional enormous Christmas tree was today lowered into place at its usual site on Entmoot Plaza. It was truly an impressive sight as the huge crane swung the gargantuan tree over the heads of the gathered Mooters in the square and as it slowly decended into the concrete socket the gathered populace exlaiming their awe at the spectacle.

Thanks, once again. But update again: after the initial shock, I realized that this time the sorrow isn't overwhelming, freezing (when I'm depressed, I feel physical cold crawling from my heart or spine to my limbs) or paralyzing. I'm sad, of course, but there's also the feeling that it'll get better. I'll get better. She reminded me of how it feels like to be wonderfully, terribly in love. I'll have to remember to thank her for that. My only qualm is that I liked her more than anyone so far, and then screwed it... Well, seventh time lucky then, eh?

Of course. I always did like 7 as a number. *nods*

Earn, I came home this morning 2 hours early than scheduled, though I expected to have to spend the night in the bus station or something. I'm lucky!
The snow in Manchester was beautiful though! But when I came to London it was mostly gone already. Here we've still got snow aplenty!

Well, Noble, all I can say is that I'm so glad that all the times I felt like I was in love when I was in school never worked out. If they had worked out, I probably wouldn't be engaged to my amazing fiance. And even situations which didn't have anything to do with love, like when I decided not to return to my school's theater program even though I enjoyed it. If I had, I wouldn't have gotten to know my handsome man (theater had a different lunch period and an unfavorable reputation, in his opinion).

Everything happens for a reason and this is no exception. It will teach you SOMETHING or be an event that leads to SOMETHING important in your life.

And the best part is that you can't see it now, but when you get there, you can look back and see exactly how everything worked together for your good. That's just the way God works. Sometimes we must go through pain to reach the good He has planned for us. I'm glad you're finding it bittersweet though, instead of just bitter.

Great! I suppose coming back from London is easier than going there.

I'm told there's maybe still some snow to come. Or, with our luck, it'll be rain, washing away the snow, and then some freezing to make the streets slippery like hell.

No more studying until January!
I spent today trudging through the beautiful snow-covered city looking to buy the last Christmas gifts. Also kind of ran into my dad and had a sort of a premature and spontaneous Christmas celebration with him. Luckily I was carrying his presents in my backpack, so we exchanged gifts and all. I downed four (!) hot chocolates in the process. Wow, I didn't realise how much I had longed for hot chocolate

And just before closing time, I found the last gifts! Terry Pratchett for the oldest niece and Roald Dahl for the youngest!

Feeling pleasantly exhausted, I think I'll sink back in my couch with some tea and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which I haven't read before.

You haven't? You've got something to look forward to, then. The Chronicles of Narnia are my favorite books - perhaps not as great a concept as Tolkien's works, but with more of a child-like charm ...

True that I got the whole series from one grandmother for my BA. I got the LotR-series from my other grandparents for my first year propedeutical diploma. Anyone see a theme here?

GW, are you going on vacation? A merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you in any case! Thanks for the nice tree ^_^

Say, Santa Clause hasn't shown up this year yet, has he?

Oops, maybe he'll get lucky? It's just that they've been saying all day how people who don't absolutely positively have to be in London, better move their train reservation to next year.

I indeed have! I'm already ready to tackle the next book in the series

She's going by plane actually so hopefully she's spared from such trouble.

I'm watching The Fifth Element... I'd only seen it once before, but I liked it then even though it's weird. I really love it, now... it's so weird, but really very sweet in a lot of ways . Sad, but sweet.
