I can be in the choir! I am an alto. Not a very good one, though, I'll admit.

u forgot ME! I forgot to mention, I have a great vocal range so I can sing almost any part except for low alto. I sing solo quite often, and everybody says I have a great voice[those who've heard me at least] If you need a sample or something, I'm sure I could get it into my comp, and onto a post or somesuch.

Don't worry, we can stand at the back together. Choirs need non-soloists like us to provide the full-bodied, beautiful sound of a large choir.

Has it occured to anyone that we'll need to get permission from Tolkien Enterprises Inc. to use these names, etc? That could get pricy. How exactly were we planning an funding this thing?

Just a question from the Marketing Department. Please don't put me in charge fo the Business Department, too.

Also, I'm working on finding/designing a font that we can use as our main advertising scheme. Of course, we don't want to copy PJ so does anyone have any ideas as to the "theme" we're going by (for example, PJ used a dark, Mordory theme for most of the posters. I want something a little lighter. Not that the movie is lighter, but just so we don't look like plagiarisers.)

I'm sorry to burst anyone's bubble, and I hate posting it in this thread, but it should be cleared up that we're not really making a movie. This is mainly due to a lack of funds, lack of time by the major organizers, and a lack of us living on the same continent.

This thread is speculating about how we would go about making a Lord of the Rings movie, what would be included in the script, who would play what parts, what the music would be like etc. etc.

However, the thread is no less valid or interesting despite the fact that we're not really making a movie.

In our minds, we are. That is enough, and all we can do.

Cheers,
Nurvingiel

What?!

A thread like this could create some interesting discussions; we'll have to decide what parts are important and what parts are not and what kinds of scenes we would add or change. This often results in people defending the passage they love the most from the books, arguing why their part should be kept (and why others' parts aren't as important as their own).

Oh, and since there's not really much for me to do, can I make up some lines/extra scenes for my character? I was thinking of adding a scene where you see Thranduil saying farewell to Legolas on the borders of Mirkwood (and perhaps a scene where Smeagol escapes from Mirkwood).

Sorry Hector. I really just meant that we're not immediately planning a movie. (Oh no, I'm going to get demoted to Assistant Director #1'853'916)

Indeed , it's also interesting to see what and who would all be needed to film something like this, even if we're just speaking hypothetically.

Which reminds me, while we have some designers of clothing, sets and props already (those jobs readily fill up), I don't think we have got anybody who can actually make them. The practical side of designing gets forgotten often. I can draw pretty clothes but to my regret I can't even use a sewing-machine. So we'd need smiths, painters, carpenters, seamstresses, ect.. too. We can't let Nariel do it all.

I think the number of smithies will depend on how large you want the armies to be, though I suppose we could cheat a little on those that won't actually be filmed clearly in combat in.

About the seamstresses, erm... I didn't mean it exactly that way. it's just, I could only remember the female form of that profession.

What do you mean by half the size but a bit bigger?

Do you mean half the numbers, but each person is larger?
