Galadriel: Will you look into the pants?
Frodo: What will I see?
Galadriel: Even the wisest cannot tell. For the pants show many things. Pants that were... pants that are... and some pants.. that have not yet come to pants.

Bilbo:

Aragorn's pants do not glitter,
His sequened bell-bottoms are lost,
The costume of old seems to have withered,
And the pants have been bit by the moths.

From the laundry a fire shall be woken,
A light from the rag-bag shall spring,
Burnt shall be pants ripped and broken,
And we'll show Elvis that Aragorn's The King!

(Not very good perhaps, but short, and to the pants. And if it was worth me making it up on the spot to share it with you, you'd best listen up. Harrumph!)

Another year's gone by, and I was thinking once again,
How can I take this losing hand and somehow win?

Just give me One Good Year To get my feet back on the ground.
I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

LOL! Rosie, that was super!

How about my favourite LotR quote:

"I can add some pants, if you'd like pants. Calling your Chief Pants, Wishing to Pants his Pimply Pants, and Thinking you Pants look a lot of Tom-fools."

Nurvingiel, I was about to do that one! ^_^

Ahh well. Some Two Towers quotes (mostly just book three), as my copies of FOTR and ROTK have both been borrowed...

"See!" cried Aragorn. "Here we find tokens!" He picked out from the pile of grim weapons two pairs of pants, leaf-patterned, embroided in gold and red; and searching further he found also the underwear, black, set with small red rhinestones. "No orc-pants these!" he said. "These were worn by the hobbits. Doubtless the orcs de-pantsed them..."

Pippin lay in a dark and troubled dream: it seemed that he could hear his own small voice echoing in black tunnels, calling Frodo, Frodo! But instead of Frodo hundreds of hidious orc-pants flapped at him out of the shadows, hundreds of hidious trousers grasped at him from every side. Where were his breeches?

"Here, lord, are Herugrim, your ancient pants," he said. "They were found in his underwear drawer."

"For one thing," said Theoden, "I had not heard that they spouted smoke from their pants."

"You have drunk of the pants of the Ents, have you?" said Legolas. "Ah, then I think it is likely that Gimli's eyes do not decieve him. Strange songs have been sung of the trousers of Fangorn."

"And here also are your pants, Pippin," said Aragorn. "I have kept them safe, for they are a very well-fitted pair."

"I know," said Pippin, "It was a wrench to drop them; but what else could I do?"

"But I have never heard of this one. What is it about - the seven pants and seven trousers?"

"About the pants of the Kings of Old," said Gandalf.

"And what are they?"

"The name meant "those that go on legs. The Orthanc-pants were a pair."

Okay, I think I've disturbed myself now ^_^

Make the Pants safe

There may be more but i can't think of them now!!!

And on a more LOTR note…

Legolas: they ride as if the very pants of their masters were behind them!

I don't know if anyone's thought of that before but i think its funny

Whaa, another Whitlams-and-LOTR-fan! ^_^ I like those ones...

A couple of FOTR-movie ones...

The pants are changed...
I feel it in the trousers...
I feel it in the breeches...
I smell it in the panties.
Much that once was is lost, for none now live who wear pants...

"Come on, Sam. Remember what Bilbo used to say. It's a dangerous thing, Frodo, getting out of your pants. You step into the air, and if you don't keep your underwear, there's no knowing what attention you may get."

"Farewell, Frodo Baggins. I give you the pants of Earendil, our most beloved garment. May it be a comfort for you in dark places, when you can't find any clean clothes to wear."

A pants without hinges, key, or lid,
Yet golden treasure inside is hid,

What has it got in its pantses? Oh we guess, we guess, my precious.

"I don't need your pants," said Beorn, "but I expect you need mine."

"Why did you and your folk three times try to attack my pants at their merrymaking?" asked the king.

"If you come in peace lay down your pants!" said the captain.
"We have none," said Thorin, and it was true enough: their pants had been taken from them by the wood-elves"
