I don't like chick flicks that much. I like classics and stuff like Tom Clancy.

I like the genre 'chick flicks', I hate the term. I'm female, not poultry.

When I was younger, I had this idea that girls who cried at movies were wimps. My mom and aunt always cried at movies ("A Walk To Remember"? "Hope Floats"? They didn't stand a chance...)

I don't remember EXACTLY what changed me. I think it was a combination of my then-bf (now-husband) mentioning that he was frightened by the prospect of a stubborn wife who does things out of spite, and a movie I watched where a little girl was being abused. I couldn't help but cry at that. Now I cry, cry, cry. And I feel better when I'm done.

I also like the BBC films such as the Hercule Poiret series and their version of Pride and Prejudice.

The version of S&S which was done in the 90s, with Emma T, Kate W, Hugh G and Alan R is the best one I've ever seen. KK cant hold a candle to to KW.

Keira Knightley did not play in Sense and Sensiblity, she played in the short film-version of Pride and Prejudice. The mini-series is definitely better though. There is a new (2008) mini-series of Sense and Sensibility, also by the BBC. It's quite good.

You're quite right. It was P&P.

The BBC films have a definite atmosphere to them that the Holly wood films fail to capture.

Hollywood has become too makeup painted and they don't stick to the original story-line.

I'm trying to arrange La Vie En Rose for guitar, piano, and voice. Excited. I love that piece.

... currently have three measures figured out. Pray for me.

I don't think I am familiar with that one. I am more of a Classical and Baroque listener myself.

Of course, you realize, you have to record the final result for us.

I learned how to play one line of "Old MacDonald" on a violin -

Somehow, Tess, I think you have me beat.

I will probably try. I may use it as a recording experiment WHEN I GET MY NEW MICROPHONE!!!! *squeals of joy*

I invested in a Blue Yeti, which is a USB microphone... so it will be of higher quality than the one of my laptop (which is decent) and it will be easier to position close to the voice/instrument... as opposed to trying to hold my laptop up to my mouth or awkwardly hover over the laptop as I play guitar.

SO excited! It should arrive by the end of next week, I believe. Plenty of time for me to arrange.

Many Northern and Mid-Eastern Swedes appears to be part of a politico-maniacal, debatoisis-infected, execrable mob of exorbitantly tempestous and fervidly garrulous malcontents. They dominate Swedish Television and Radio, unfortunately.

I'm moving tomorrow. Moved the boxes yesterday already (and I did the driving!) and came back home, but tomorrow I'm going back over there with my bike by train to stay there for 6 months.
