I just...can't believe something that terrible happened to you. Is your eye going to be permanently useless?

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I came up with just yet another idea. "Now what", you may ask, "makes you think Mr President, that I'm going to listen to your garbage again?"...well, the democrats are worse! Ok...that's not a good answer...

My idea is this: All of us who have an interest in writing poems ought to put together an Official Anthem For Entmoot, and we can use our rallying power to demand that the mods post it somewhere permanent, for all to see...

Well, the eye...Eh, I dont know. Knowing me, I wont let it heal properly and will never gain full sight out of it. But the docs say there is a chance, however slim. Meh, I'm just trying to get used to reading my teeny tiny textbook-print with one confounded eye. It sucks that I lost my dominant eye, so my aim is waaaay off.

Oh yes...I cant walk the halls in college without some wise ass making remarks, Latest one as I walked into the library; "Hey! zorro, you can take off the mask now!"

Zoro?! WTF! He had both eyes and wore a mask from his forehead to his nose! I just have a bandage on the eye!

At lunch, a dear old woman, I like her very much, who works at the counter said, with no malice intended, "You dont have to wear your mask in here dear." GAAAAH! She didn't know, and I cant blame her, she was most contrite afterwards.

And at the same time, another student was paying at the counter too, and he was just lookin at me and bouncing up and down as if trying to figure something out. I smiled back and said, "No, this is the usual me."

"Oh? you tryin to be a gang banger or something?"

I admit, I was wearing a black bandana over the dressing, cause the eye patch straps hurt after a while and leave marks on my head.

"No, this is a cover for my eye. It's hurt."

"Oh! Oh! Sorry man, owch. You gonna be okay?"

And we had a pleasent convo after that, he was one of the nicer ones, said he had a friend with the same problem.

But man, it is annoying, and it doesnt help when I trip on some previously unseen thing either.

Zorro? How lame...

One of our favorite dogs of all time died because he'd lost an eye in a fight with another dog (which we did not witness), and when I tried to cross the road sometime after, he didn't see the semi coming....

All I have to say is: don't cross streets on a regular basis.

Oh christ, you aren't kidding.

I was nearly made into kibble the other day when trying to catch the bus. Nearly creamed by some bint trying to put mascara on. And as if that isn't usually dangerous enough. She was just cruising down the hill and I didn't see her at all! Thank you god for that japanese boy pulling me out of the way, back onto the sidewalk.

For instance, it took me about five times before I realized the "cotton" joke in that scene between Mace and Yoda....
