Here the snow is thick on the ground. Pretty cold too. The treacherous ice is lies waiting underneath the cover.

I'm getting quite interested in flexitarian diets (basically vegetarian/vegan but you don't completely stop eating animal products)... specifically those that focus on raw foods.
I understand that you do need to eat some cooked vegetables too, but part of the allure for me is that I love salads... almost irrationally so. >.> If we go to a restaurant I'm more likely to get a salad than anything else on the menu. I just recently got a bigger lunch box so that I could bring salads to school (I need room for an ice pack to keep the food fresh...). It's always hard to figure this stuff out, though. First you find one article that says, "EATIN' YER VEGGIES RAW WILL MAKE YEH ABLE TA CRUSH SMALL NAUTICAL VESSELS WIT YER MIND!" and then another one that says, "Actually eating mainly raw vegetables leads to osteoporosis and means you lose most of the nutritional value of the food along with the vitamins." Then another article is all, "EATIN' YER VEGGIES RAW GIVES YEH MOAR VITIMALS AND NUTRITINUL VALUES!" Damn you, science! >.< A big part of the reason is that I think I have a weak immune system and these diets are supposed to help with that. |
