Good song though. Just like your bio.

Hmmm... This place looks familiar.
Anyway, I wrote this down after hearing Daniel Powter's song on American Idol quite a few times: Old Grey (originally BAD DAY by Daniel Powter) filked by Arathorn/Hector S. Why did he fall when you needed him most? You kick up the leaves though the quest seems so lost They tell me you've lost Gandalf the Grey They tell me your passion's gone away And you don't need Sam carryin' on You're bearing the One and it's pulling you low You're faking a smile as, to Mordor, you go You tell me the journey ain't so fine You're falling to pieces everytime And you don't need Sam carryin' on Cause you lost the Old Grey You saw him fall down You can't find a song while you're Lothlorien bound You head for Mordor You seek there what lies You work out a smile then you sneak off and hide You lost the Old Grey The Red Book don't lie You're getting worse now and you really don't mind You lost the Old Grey You lost the Old Grey Well you need a green Shire holiday The point is the world is turning grey And still Sam keeps on carryin' on You lost the Old Grey You saw him fall down You can't find a song while you're Lothlorien bound You head for Mordor You seek there what lies You work out a smile then you sneak off and hide You lost the Old Grey The Red Book don't lie You're getting worse now and you really don't mind You lost the Old Grey (Oh.. Holiday..) One time the One Ring falls from your grip And that Smeagol does you wrong You might not make it back and you know And you could be turned to the throng And It's so wrong (yeah...) So where is the Pilgrim when you needed him, Frode? (Oh, just you and Sam) You wait for the end, then come Eagles he rode Cause you had some bad days You saw him fall down You can't find a song where you're hopelessly bound You head for Mordor You seek there what lies You work out a smile as you snuck off to hide You lost the Old Grey The Red Book don't lie You're getting worse now and you really don't mind You lost the Old Grey You now see the White!

I did it - thanks Arathorn for reminding me how much I enjoyed this.
Ring of Gold (Heart of Gold - Neil Young) I'm spread too thin, I start to fade... I've been a pinin' for a ring of gold. It's this subjugation That never gives It keeps me searching for a ring of gold I'm not getting old. Keeps me searching for a ring of gold I'm not getting old. I've been to the Golden Wood I've been to Mirkwood I crossed the Anduin for a ring of gold It's preyed on my mind, and it's such a fine line That keeps me searching for a ring of gold I'm not getting old. Keeps me searching for a ring of gold I'm not getting old. Keep me searching for a ring of gold You keep me searching for a ring of gold I'm not getting old. I've been a pinin' for a ring of gold.

Wow! I got an email to say that Arathorn had posted. I don't even remember subscribing to the thread. I feel all time-warpy. Arathorn, good to know that you're alive. How's tricks?

Hi guys! Nice to be back.
Sen, I'm doing fine. Am teaching college again. Hopefully, I find another good enough song play around with.

yes indeed...i was thinking of the "find a queen without a king line" [that's in the real song] and just visualized aragorn with an acoustic...from there it came to me in a dream...well, i actually thought of it...while i was awake...you get the idea...

Was listening to the O' Brother soundtrack and this popped in me head.
to A Man of Constant Sorrow by the Soggy Bottom Boys sung by Gandolf with Frodo and Sam as the chorus. Fatty Bolger: "Hot damn, it's the Soggy Shire Boys" Frodo and Sam(chorus) In constant sorrow all through his age *Gandolf sliding out to the mic* I am the maiar of constant sorrow I've seen trouble all my age I bid farewell to old Valinor The place where I was born and raised (Frodo and Sam) The place where he was born and raised For 1500 long years I've been in trouble No pleasure here on middle-earth I found For in this world I'm bond to ramble I have no maiars to help me now (Frodo and Sam) He has no maiars to help him now I fare thee well my old ranger I never expect to see you again For I'm bond to ride to Minas Tirith Perhaps I'll die upon it's walls (Frodo and Sam) Perhaps he'll die upon it's walls Maybe your friends think I'm just Mithrandir My face you'll see some more And there is one promise that is given I'll meet you on Grey Haven's shore (Frodo and Sam) He'll meet you on Grey Haven's shore Not great but I just thought of it. I skipped the third(3rd) verse cause I couldn't think of anything for it.
