Gee, that's difficult to say.

Eorl was the first King of Rohan. The Eorlingas is another name for the Rohirrim. The Rohirrim considered themselves decendants of Eorl.

What that has to do with Gondor, is beyond my knowledge.

A little hint for you, then.

Eorl lived around TA 2500.
Last King of Gondor went "missing" in TA 2050.
So whatever ties the Eorlingas claimed to have with the Kings of Gondor had to happen LONG BEFORE Eorl.

I am not sure, but I believe the "Eorlingas" encompass not all of the Rohirrim, but only those of the Royal house - descendants of Eorl.

Eldacar, a future King of Gondor - wed Vidu(mava?) - the daughter of the self-styled "King of Rhovanion (Vidu... ga-something?) - probably in about the 1200's TA.

Eorl and his line consider themselves descendants of this King - and therefore, distant cousins to Gondor's Kings.
