Oh, man, I love that song! "Choppin' brocolleh heh! she's choppin' broccoleh - " Hell yeah! One of the better Saturday Night Live skits from the past decade...
Hey, Troll's Bane, have you heard about this coming August 27th at 12:30 at night, Venus is going to be so, so close to the moon and to the earth's atmosphere that it will appear to be a little second moon, and that this phenomenon won't happen again until like the year 2067 or something? My Dad told me about it. Do you know anything, have you heard about this? I want to go to the Griffith Observatory that night, and view it from there, it'll be so awesome.

I'm afraid I didn't hear that. But thank you for telling me. Although, I must say, I heard the exact same thing twice before: about the Deep Impact mission (they said it would look like fireworks), and about Mars back in 2005 or early 2006, where I couldn't resolve it as more than a point of light even with my telescope. So I'll try to see that, but I'm going to take it with a grain of salt.

O.K., I just googled for elucidation, here, and this is what's happening:
"Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will culminate on August 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on August 27 12:30 am GTM. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287." Every time I hear any kind of astronomical news, I think of Trolls Bane. I'm serious! I figured you'd be interested in this bite of planetary news, if you aren't already up on it... Miss you, baby, hope everything's cool with you and your life...

I'm sorry, but really, it's quite impossible. But if it does get that close, I'm packin' my bags and gettin' outta here! I'm quite alright, thank you. I'm busy promoting the RL Brendonianist Party, at the critique of certain bushwhackin' McCarthyists *piercing glare at Durino, Merry, and Acally* and of my own limit on how much I can handle people ignoring me. But I'm making progress. My good friend Whitney has sworn allegiance, though I've not received the membership application back and I don't think she's read the Declaration of Principles yet. I think our biggest obstacle is what's left of the "Red Scare" and McCarthyism still left. I think for the next decade or so, we'll ride the wake of the Communist Party USA, who is doing an excellent job at removing anti-communist laws from the workplace and elsewhere. At which time, we'll take on a more active role. I also have two new pets, named Oppenheimer and Borisovich. I'm going to leave it to some one I HAVEN'T ALREADY TOLD to guess what they are. :P And how are you, Lotesse? 'Twas a long time.

Fine! They're Giant Hissing Cockroaches. Nymphs still, but when they're full grown they'll be four or five inches long.

You gave Russian names to coachroaches? ... Well, then again, we did name all eight of our new fish. Humphrey, Sunshine, Goldie, Convict, Tiger, Cajun, Sharky, and Jaws *ba-dum... ba dum... badum, badum, badumbadumbadumQUACK!* Slightly hyper. Just slightly. I found the lyrics to La Cockaracha: La cucaracha, la cucaracha Ya no puede caminar Porque no tiene, porque le falta Marijuana que fumar. 0_o

....not a fan of yellow card, myself.
as to the cockroach lyrics, was that me, or is the word "marijuana" in the last line?

I never knew that it was that, either, but when MB looked it up, the site with the lyrics said that it was the Spanish Version of Yankee Doodle. I'm frightened.
